Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM) has announced the upcoming arrival of the Volkswagen Polo Club Edition models, limited-run variants built to celebrate the supermini’s 40th anniversary.
Both sedan and hatch versions will be available, with some added kit at a lower price, much like the recipe behind the Jetta Club Edition. These new equipment includes a Blaupunkt navigation system and window tinting – likely the Blaupunkt Philadelphia 835 seven-inch touchscreen head unit and Llumar tint film as seen on the Jetta.
As for the price, the hatch version is priced at RM88,888 nett, excluding insurance, road tax and other on-the-road costs – that’s a RM1,000 drop from the current model. The sedan, on the other hand, retails at RM89,888, a full RM2,000 cut from the sedan’s regular price of RM91,888. Both cars come with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and five years’ Volkswagen Mobility Guarantee.
Elsewhere, these cars should remain the same, with a 1.6 litre naturally-aspirated MPI four-pot pushing out 105 PS at 5,250 rpm and 153 Nm of torque at 3,800 rpm, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. Both cars were facelifted earlier this year, gaining smoked headlights, new bumpers on the hatch, a Mk7 Golf flat-bottomed steering wheel and new trim and upholstery patterns for the hatch.
It has to be said that these cars – and the Jetta Club Edition – aren’t in any way related to the recently-introduced Beetle Club Edition. The latter is a worldwide effort, limited to 50 units and includes a host of upgrades both inside and out.
These included a unique Habanero Orange hue, black wing mirrors, 17-inch “Ravenna” wheels, black decals, black and Orange leather upholstery, orange stitching, “Club” steering wheel badging, new “Twist Wave Dark” dash trim and an OEM Composition Media touchscreen infotainment system.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
All units come with a pre-broken DSG gearbox!
please don’t BS here, the polo 1.6 comes with a normal aisin six speed auto.
You can find dual-clutch applied in extraordinary vehicles like BMW’s M-series, Merz’s SLS, Audi’s S-tronic, Lambo Huracan, Nissan GTR, Megane etc.
As the dual-clutch requires care and maintenance as the clutches are engaged all the time. So the more you travel, the faster it wore out.
So, if you being a low-ballers, don’t buy dual-clutch vehicles.
Who would buy this over the Honda City?! City has the best all rounder in terms of power, looks, gadgets, space and safety!
Who would buy city over vios? The Vios has massive 7k discount.
A more “premium” Proton Saga
i can’t agree more on you!
Even though this car does not have the famous faulty DSG, you will regret joining VW.
Their 5 year warranty is tipu. Only 2 years. Remaining 3 years is insurance based. And so many people complain after 2 years, it is discretionary and most of the time insurance reject the claim. You have to fork out lots of money for this and that
Secondly, just to service your car is a 5 week wait. (cause they busy repairing DSG broken cars). If in the 5 weeks you cross your mileage, they say void the warranty.
It happened to my buddy last week. So, this 5 week wait thing was never rectified
Can’t believe so these BS around still, LOL
where got dsg maaaa..
Wow VGM really knows how to anger its existing customers eh?
Where is ESP?
6 airbags + ESP and the car is perfect already. Why not, VGM?
Still the same old design (boring) and the interior looks dated and not impressive.
tats the poblem when consumers buy these “cold market cars”…the first batch buyers always got the raw deal for their sapot…just look at Forte (4 speed auto later 6 speed)..Chevy & Nasa(big discount)…Fluence (more features at same or less prices) Elantra (ciper version)…its still safest to get a Toyoda Bin Honda
a strategy by VGM to show parent company VAG that it is trying its best to get sales.
but then again, special editions like this are nothing new to the european market like UK. even proton have them… like Gen GSX LE, or Saga Lynx, Puma, Emerald or Pulse.
Yes, there were that manyunknown to Malaysians.
Got ppl still buying this VW’s lemon car ke??
i gotta say , in this segment , the honda city is eating everyone alive at the moment , it has the best package…and its everywhere now , EVERYWHERE!
Now comes with theft proven keyless entry! Buyers beware!
Got! For those who don’t know how sour the lemon is.
This car isn’t for the struggling wage earner who can’t afford to lose working time from car problems, pay expensively for maintenance and swallow very low resale value when changing to his next car. It is also not for those who have only one car in the family. Just stick to a a reliable City instead.
City got poor RV. Why not get a Vios instead.
Vios cost cutting to the max.. No sound proofing material, radio on medium volume can be heard clearly from outside, interior makes noise after months of ownership, car is unstable at the highway and engine struggles to keep up with a 1.5 myvi. What a milotin car it is..
