Audi A7 Sportback facelift launched in M’sia – RM626k

So it’s finally official. Audi Malaysia has announced the introduction of the Audi A7 Sportback facelift. The revised version of the 4.97-metre long A7 has a striking new interpretation of the Audi’s singleframe grille.

The car’s long bonnet, short front overhang, muscular waistline, strong orientation towards the rear axle and 19-inch forged aluminium wheels with a five-spoke V-design emphasises the A7’s sporty nature. With mild tweaks to the design of its LED headlights and rear tail lamps with dynamic turn signals, the A7 Sportback certainly looks the part.

Cargo space under its electrically operated trunk lid is 535 litres, and can be expanded to 1,390 litres once the rear seat backs are folded down. Up front, “Aluminium Delta” dashboard trim, “Valcona” leather seats with electric seat adjustment and ventilation for both front seats, and leather-covered sports steering wheel and gear knob are highlights.

When it comes to technology, the A7 Sportback gets an MMI navigation system. The “Audi Connect” functionality with Google Earth and WiFi hotspot connects to the Internet via LTE transmission from the SIM card on board. The entertainment kit remains unchanged with a 6-DVD changer coupled with a Bose sound system with 12-channel amplifier and 14 speakers.

Standard comfort features for the facelift now include adaptive air suspension which can be customised from the MMI, MMI touchpad and an updated eight-inch colour display screen (6.5-inch previously).

Other electronic and mechanical features for the new vehicle include a start/stop system with energy recuperation, parking aid plus with park display and reverse camera and an automatic rear spoiler than deploys at speeds above 130 km/h for better stability.

The latest 3.0 TFSI V6 petrol engine with direct fuel injection generates 333 hp and 440 Nm of torque from 2,900 to 5,300 rpm. That’s up from the previous 310 hp. The turbo-six is mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

The new A7 does the century sprint in 5.3 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. It has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h with combined fuel consumption of 7.6 litres per 100 km. The car has eight airbags and ESC, which includes the electronic differential lock.

Customers will have seven colour choices to choose from: Glacier White, Ibis White, Floret Silver, Dakota Grey, Oolong Grey, Tornado Grey and Mythos Black. The new Audi A7 Sportback is priced from RM625,900 on the road excluding insurance.

  • Yes… CLS and 6-Series GC fighter is finally here :) but standard bodykit too docile to compete with the fiercer looking Benz and BMW.. Slap in RS, Caractere or ABT bodykit and we have a contender

Finally the facelift is here. A7 has always been one of the nicer looking Audi and I just love the 3.0tfsi mill. It looks so much better with the refreshed front and rear lights and I’m sure the performance will not disappoint. The top of the line RS7 will be one hell of a mean machine but haven’t got a chance to see one yet in our shore.
