Ford Mustang – eight custom models headed to SEMA

Eight custom Ford Mustangs will be heading to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Ford has announced. Each one features cosmetic and performance enhancements by eight different aftermarket specialists. One that perhaps stands out most is a 2.3 litre EcoBoost Ford Mustang with 900 hp on tap!

Let’s start with the 900 hp Mustang. Customised by tuners Bisimoto, the all-black Mustang (pictured above) gets a total of 14 new parts for its engine and chassis. A few notable items include a Web Level 2.4 cam shaft, Turbonetics BTX7668 turbo with internal wastegate, a custom exhaust system, an Infinity 6 ECU and an extensive list of other mods.

Motoroso, meanwhile, gives the Mustang a subtle aesthetic makeover (below, left). The Mustang GT rides on 21-inch red candy Rotiform SPF wheels and Eibach springs. In the boot, you’ll find multiple iPads with information on the car through an app. The 5.0 litre V8 is customised with a phase two supercharger from Roush Performance and other mods to give it 727 hp in total.

TS Designs will slap the Mustang convertible with a custom wide body kit, 13-inch-wide tyres for the rear and a Steeda Autosports Stage three handling package. Sitting low, wide and in a striking red shade, this Stang gets no performance mods.

Yet another Mustang convertible is decked out by Mad Industries. With elements of “Brilliant Blue” to match the Pure Black body colour, the inside is upholstered with a custom dyed blue Trevino leather. The Mustang GT convertible’s 5.0 litre V8 engine is also fitted with some mods, including a 2.9 litre twin-screw supercharger kit from Whipple Industries to give it a total of 725 hp.

Ice Nine is deciding to go with a modest 475 hp with the 2.3 litre EcoBoost by adding a Garrett GTX3076R turbo, a Corsa Performance prototype exhaust and further tuning by Dead Hook Motorsports. It also gets an air suspension from Air Lift Performance. The company says that its rendition here is inspired by the DTM Touring series and the new Shelby GT350R.

Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti (Dragg), on the other hand, is dressing the Mustang in a police outfit. The specialists has fitted the Mustang with a custom police lighting, both on top and in front. Exterior-wise ,t is additionally fitted with a carbon-fibre body kit and Velgen 20-inch rims. Inside, there are GoPro action cameras and a West Coast Lights & Siren police radio system.

Next up, Bojix Design enhances the Mustang with triple stripes that flow from front to back. Underneath that hood, modifications will be done as well, with an intercooler, downpipe and an upgraded turbocharger. It’ll sit pretty on Cortex coilovers, sway bars and Eibach springs.

Last is CGS Performance Products’ Mustang convertible, described as the “relative sleeper” compared to the rest. It’s fitted with 21-inch wheels in the front and 22-inch rims in the back, with two red stripes that complement that white paint. Inside, it gets an all-round Alea custom leather treatment. Performance-wise it gets the brand’s own cat-back exhaust and cold air intake, among other upgrades.
