A new Audi A8 variant has been launched by Audi America in the States. Called the Audi A8 L 4.0 T Sport, it now comes with an enhanced twin-turbo V8 engine along with exterior and interior updates. The 2016 model year A8 flagship sedan now features 450 hp – 15 hp more than the outgoing model with the same 4.0 litre TFSI V8 mill.

Outside, the Sport variant receives more performance-oriented styling bits. This includes an entirely redesigned lower front bumper, a restyled rear bumper and a new pair of side rocker panels, to give it a discreet wider stance. Less chrome accents have been used this time round.

In addition to that, a set of 20-inch five spoke wheels with all-season tyres are now standard for this variant. Customers can choose to opt for two other 20-inch rims that come in a different design or 21-inch five-arm wheels wrapped in summer tyres.

Inside, the standard Executive and Luxury packages consist ventilated 22-way Comfort front seats with massage function, wrapped in Valcona leather and accentuated with diamond pattern stitching. Standard luxury items also include Alcantara headliner, a panoramic sunroof and acoustic glazing on the windows.

Optional items that customers can request for in the A8 include driving assistance systems such as Audi side assist with pre sense rear. The system helps drivers change lanes, monitors traffic following the car and also comes with Audi head-up display with navigation. One can also opt for Audi adaptive cruise control with stop & go. The A8 L 4.0T Sport in the US goes for USD$90,500 (RM386,268).
