UMW Toyota (UMWT) has issued a notice on a “special service campaign” in which the company will be recalling a total of 66,830 vehicles in Malaysia over difficulties involving faulty power-window master switches. The worldwide recall was initially announced by Toyota Motor Corporation in earlier this month.
Affected vehicle models in Malaysia are the Toyota Vios, Corolla Altis, Camry, Yaris and RAV4, produced between September 2005 to December 2010. In a statement released by UMWT, the firm said that it is “currently preparing the necessary remedial parts” and that “contact all affected customers to carry out the necessary corrective measures.”
Should said vehicle possess a faulty power-window master switch, the issue will be rectified with the application of specialised grease. However, should the master switch display signs of malfunction, the entire switch board will be replaced completely free of charge. For more information, owners are advised to contact UMWT at its Toyota Toll Free Line at 1800-8-869682.
