Seri Kembangan Elevated Interchange opens Sunday

MEX road closure KM10 to KM23-01

The Seri Kembangan Elevated Interchange will be open to motorists from this Sunday onwards, Bernama reports. The interchange is situated at KM16.5 of the Maju Expressway (MEX).

Works minister Datuk Fadillah Yusof said that for now, concessionaire Maju Expressway will not be imposing any toll fees during a one-month trial period. “They have not decided on the toll rate as it will only be determined after the trial period,” the minister said.

Fadillah said that with the new elevated interchange, traffic congestion will be further reduced particularly in the areas of Seri Kembangan, Taman Universiti Indah, Taman Puncak Jalil and Taman Equine.

Construction of the the elevated interchange began on December 2, 2013, and the project has cost Maju Expressway RM112 million. A total of RM20 million was allocated by government for land acquisition.

The graphics is very confusing. Can it show just MEX and how it relates to Seri Kembangan (without the other roas in there as well)?

  • Expected gridlock forum seri Kembangan to MEX and from Sierra interchange before LDP. People from Putrajaya already flock Putera Permai road to avoid toll. 30 jam in front off taman universiti indah already you want to add more people from mex

  • About time they completed this. But I must ask why do we refer to our roads as MEX, NSE, LDP, ABC, DEF etc. Why not just use the road numbers (E20 in this case) for simplicity? For one, it would make the road signs a lot simpler and quicker to read.
