Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV updated for 2016 – Exclusive Line, Mercedes me connect introduced

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class Exclusive has been revealed. The new, top-shelf design line has been featured on several Mercedes-Benz models already, and has now made its way to the V-Class MPV.

Set to make its world debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March, the new V-Class Exclusive features sports suspension, 19-inch light-alloy wheels and a 17-inch braking system. The variant also gets “Exclusive” badging on its front fenders.

Inside, the V-Class Exclusive features brushed aluminium trim pieces, air vents in silver chrome, a roof liner in Dinamica, climatised single seats in Nappa leather for all and a Burmester surround sound system.

Mercedes-Benz also claims that its new V-Class variant now has the largest panoramic sliding sunroof in the segment. Additionally, there’s a new large centre console with an integrated refrigerated compartment and thermo-cupholders featured.

Other standard kit in the V-Class Exclusive include Attention Assist, Crosswind Assist, Active Parking Assist and a 360-degree camera. The large MPV is now available for order, with prices in Germany starting from 74,911 euros (RM348k).

In conjunction with the new Exclusive Line, Mercedes-Benz has also announced that several new optional items have been made available for the V-Class AMG Line variant. The same large panoramic sliding sunroof and centre console with integrated cooling and heating are up for grabs, along with a new iPad holder for the backrests. Several more options will be added as the year progresses.

Mercedes “me connect” has also been confirmed for the V-Class, and will be available in certain markets from June 2016. The service allows owners to sync their mobile devices to theirs vehicles, opening up a variety of free and pay services.

Free services under Mercedes me connect include an emergency call system, accident, maintenance and breakdown management, and telediagnosis and vehicle remote diagnosis services.

Opt for the paid services, and you’ll be get Live Traffic Information, and various Remote Online features. The latter includes the ability to navigate to your parked vehicle, vehicle location finding via GPS, geographic vehicle monitoring, locking and unlocking doors, programming the auxiliary heater as well as remote retrieval of the vehicle status such as fuel tank level and tyre pressure.

The Remote Online equipment is optionally available for new cars in conjunction with the Audio 20 CD and Audio 20 USB multimedia systems, and comes as standard in combination with COMAND Online. Usage of the Remote Online services and “Live Traffic Information” is limited to three years after first registration and can then be extended at an extra charge.
