BMW Malaysia gets EEV status incentives for 1 Series and 3 Series – prices down by up to 8%

BMW-Malaysia-EEV-cars

Good news for BMW Group Malaysia and those interested in the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series. The company announced today that it has received customised Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status incentives for the two models. And with that, retail prices have been revised and are now lower by up to 8%.

Han Sang Yun, MD and CEO of BMW Group Malaysia said they have been working closely with reps from the government, especially those from the Malaysian Automotive Institute (MAI), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Ministry of Finance (MoF), Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) to ensure that they meet all necessary criteria for the customised Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status incentives.

Below are the new EEV status prices for variants of the 1 Series and 3 Series, provided by BMW, on the road without insurance. The cars come with BMW Malaysia’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty and free scheduled service programme, as well as the BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.

UPDATE: “Current retail price” for the 318i and 330i listed above are higher than prices announced at the launch/prices maintained prior to this, as they were “introductory” prices made to match pre-LCI outgoing variants (316i and 328i), BMW Malaysia has clarified.

The 1 Series facelift range was introduced locally in June 2015 with the sole 120i M Sport variant (1.6 four-pot turbo, 177 hp/250 Nm). The 118i Sport arrived in November 2015, powered by a 1.5L three-cylinder turbo engine with 136 hp/220 Nm.

The facelifted 3 Series made its Malaysian debut in November last year as well. The F30 LCI range starts from the 318i, powered by the same three-pot turbo as the 118i. The 320i is moved by a B48 2.0 litre petrol four-pot with 180 hp and 290 Nm, 20 Nm more torque than before. The top dog BMW 330i has 252 hp and 350 Nm, which is good for 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds.

Not included in the EEV incentives list are the diesel-powered RM268,800 BMW 320d and the RM258,800 320i M Sport, both of which will be discontinued after existing stock runs out. Full BMW Malaysia price list after the jump.

Malaysian Government are a bunch of liars. Promote EEV discounts but their own lorries and busses emit thick black smoke everyday.

Go and see all the construction lorries and town busses emitting thick black smoke. Polis also kena asap. Polis also so scared to saman these lorries and busses cause they are all UMNO owned.

If Government is sincere about Environment and EEV and giving cheaper prices, they should tackle all the busses and lorries emitting thick black smoke.

I really, REALLY don’t like this so-called ‘EEV’ program. It’s too vague, there’s almost no transparency and objectivity.

Anyway, good for BMW Malaysia, they will probably see a small improvement in sales. However, I don’t think it will even come close to MBM. Not even the new 7er will help much, because the bulk of sales are from the 3er and 5er.

Najib and his team should contiuously monitor and scrutise all the EEV related matters.
Has this EEV incentive programme achieved its multiple objectives?

Since the MINI Cooper (3 door and 5 door) (the non S version) shares the same 1.5 litre engine as the BMW 118i and 318, will there be a similar price reduction for the MINI Coopers, too?

The old prices aren’t right. The 120i started at 209k while the 318i at 208k, 320i at 238k and the 330i at 308k so how the heck did the F30 suddenly had at 10k price hike then now they said it’s entitled to EEV? It’s supposed to be even cheaper!

  • I find it hard to believe that cars such as the mazda 2 with its ultra efficient skyactiv engine or even the dual vvti mills from toyota do not get to enjoy similar priveleges while these premium cars do unless I’m mistaken. Everything in Malaysia is geared to please the upper class. it’s really sad…

What are those vehicles entitled for EEV incentives? Have you checked?
      Mazda3 and CX-5?
      Any price reductions?
      Do we want transparency?
We probably do not need the incentives to feed the greeds of those big car companies.

Can drop price more actually, yet make excuse old price was “introductory”. During launching, never mentioned it was priced lower than normal price. Suddenly after that, jack up price kawkaw, then pretend EEV incentive gives huuuge drop, such bs excuse poi.

Just shows how stupidly ineffective the EEV incentive is.

1st drop taxes down to 173k. after that, rebate from BMW of another 8k. brings the price to 165k.

at that price, with 1.5 litre turbocharged engine and 8 speed gearbox – how do we decide whether to buy this. or the D segment carp of VW passat, peug 508, camry, accord, teana, sonata etc.

      Rear wheel drive

      8 speed autobox is superb
      Bmw more reliable than volvo
Resale value for bmw is much better

        BMW more reliable, hahhahahahaha

So reliable until got nickname banyak masuk workshop banyak makan wang.

Volvo meanwhile so “unreliable”, Volvo Car Malaysia have to give 5+5+5 after sale service.

Resale value? Wanna care about resale value, don’t play conti la, go buy tin milo hilux from sam loo. By the way, go compare on mudah, Volvo has the better resale value actually. Do bear in mind an equivalent Volvo is cheaper when new, yet on par market value.

Oh, Volvo had given 5+5+5 years warranty + free service + on call for a looong time, whereas bmw only recently. If buy a <5 y.o. Volvo, will still have warranty, free service and on call service. Bmw's 2 year warranty was pathetic, good luck taking care of ticking time bomb.

This BMW another cheapskate and money sucking company in Malaysia. U know why? Solely bcoz owned by Nasi Lemak. From when they have introuction price for cars and afterwards increase… Solely bcoz they adjust the price so customers can get least discount from eev and claim now price reduced… Another nasi lemak managed company!

320i only, you serious? You are still at C-class level?

You think we are having sour grape feeling? At the moment the one that I am interested in is 7-series. Do you know why some people are hesitant in purchasing BMW? Go and ask your friends.

Chinese said: it is easier to move a mountain than it is to change the behaviour of a person.

What will a commercially agressive company do to maximise its profit?

Why MBM is so successful in Malaysia?
