By now, most of you would already be familiar with the new Honda NSX. The technology-filled sports car was unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, more than two decades after the first-generation model was presented at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. Recently, the all-new NSX made its European debut, and to mark the occasion, Honda Europe has released a substantial gallery of the hybrid sports car.

As a refresher, the NSX features Honda’s Sport Hybrid Power Unit, which is made up of a mid-mounted 3.5 litre DOHC twin-turbo petrol V6 engine with dry sump lubrication, along with three electric motors – two at the front and one at the rear – powered by an Intelligent Power Unit-Power Drive Unit (IPU-PDU).

Together, the system has a combined power output of 573 hp and 646 Nm of torque, with a nine-speed dual-clutch gearbox and Honda’s Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive (SH-AWD) system directing power to all four forged aluminium wheels and Continental ContiSportContact5 SP tyres.

Inside, the cabin is a mix of minimalistic and contemporary styling, which Honda calls an ‘Interwoven Dynamic’ design. Delivering impressive comfort, ergonomics and visibility, the interior features leather and Alcantara upholstery, as well as an 8-inch colour TFT display found in the instrument panel (with a customisable multi-info display).

Like its predecessor, aluminium is used extensively in the NSX’s construction. The chassis, suspension and body are all made out of said material, while other areas are fashioned out of ultra-high-strength steel and carbon-fibre. If you’re wondering if the new NSX recipe is any good, check out our review, here.

Enough talk then, let’s just savour the images found in the gallery, which also includes a few shots of the first-generation model meeting up with its successor. If you are looking for a new desktop wallpaper, you won’t be devoid of options here.

I bet Jib has a fantasy dream whereby Honda will tell Jib that he can rebadge this NSX and Proton NSX and sell it in Malaysia.

Same dream as the CEO of Proton.

  • I still don’t see the reason to include heavy motors and batteries that blunt performance when the twin turbo V6 alone can be tuned to produce the same amount of power.

    • In time the internal combustion engine would be a relic of the past and only build for nostalgic purpose. That is why
