If you’re looking to improve your Ford Mustang, but the thought of owning a Shelby GT350 is a little too daunting, here’s a solution. Shelby recently introduced a GTE package for the muscle car, where the ‘E’ stands for enhancement.
Available for both the coupe and convertible versions of the Mustang, the GTE package increases the output of the Mustang GT’s 5.0 litre V8 to 456 hp and 575 Nm, up by 35 hp and 43 Nm from the standard car. The package is also available for both manual and automatic transmissions.
Those who prefer their Mustang in EcoBoost guise will now have 335 hp and 529 Nm at their disposal, an increase of 25 hp and 95 Nm. Other performance enhancements include a Ford Performance Handling Pack (lower springs, upgraded sway bar, and new upper strut mounts), as well as a cat-back exhaust system.
To distinguish the Shelby Mustang GTE from regular models, the cars are fitted with the brand’s vented hood, new front grilles, rear spoiler, carbon-fibre front splitter, as well as new rocker panels with carbon-fibre accent plates. You’ll also get a plethora of badges and emblems as well, plus Ford Performance Wheels (19-inch)
Shelby also offers range of optional add-ons if you need that little something extra. Performance upgrades include a factory supercharger that brings the V8 up to 750 hp, track-ready cooling and suspension systems, forged wheels and a Wavetrac differential.
Additional carbon-fibre body components are also part of the options list, with the option of having them painted or left raw. As for the interior, you can add on better upholstery for the seats, as well as a multi-gauge cluster. If you have no need for the rear seats, you can have them “deleted” as well.

Ecoboost model getting sum shelby love….
95nm extra torque…..
Isn’t the stock Mustang powerful enough? Adding more power to a Mustang is like a rich man adding more money he cannot use.
If that was the case, why in the hell would ford produce the GT350 with 100+ hp more than the stock Coyote 5.0 v8?
There will always be owners who wants more and are willing to pay for it. While the Mustang is overpriced in Malaysia, it is considered as value performance car in the States. Performance enhancing is a big business there.
Not worth the $18,995 upgrade price tag
Nice car that you can register as an Original Shelby. The GTE rocks. For a Base Automatic Mustang GT with Base Shelby upgrade would cost appx $53K. That is way less than a Mustang GT350 with a price tag of 56K + 10 K markup.
Would like to know the GTE 0-60 and 1/4 Mile times.
