2017 Audi Q5 teases its new adaptive air suspension

Audi is making sure the teaser train for its second-generation Q5 continues chugging along, and this time, we’re shown the SUV’s new adaptive air suspension.

The feature was not offered on the outgoing model, so it’s good to know that Audi has decided to improve the off-road capabilities of its popular SUV. As the video demonstrates, drivers will be able to adjust the ride height of their Q5, depending on whether they are driving on tarmac or plan to leave it.

Audi hasn’t disclosed any details on the different modes available for the Q5’s air suspension, but it should mimic the one offered on the Q7. The larger sibling to the Q5 comes with five selectable modes: Standard, Allroad (+25 mm), Offroad/Lift (+60 mm), Dynamic (-15 mm) and Loading (lowers the rear of the Q7 by -55 mm)

Previous Q5 teasers from Audi include the vehicle’s matrix LED headlamps, taillights, as well as a possibly larger boot space. The vehicle will ride on the company’s MLB Evo platform, which allows for a lower kerb weight, despite an increase in size to allow for a more spacious cabin.
