The China-only Honda Avancier was offered solely with a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but Chinese auto portal autohome.com.cn has reported that the SUV will soon be offered with a smaller 1.5 litre mill from the new Civic, as a more affordable option.
That engine, a VTEC Turbo four-cylinder mill, will be slightly more powerful than the one in the Civic, producing 193 PS. That’s around the same as the engine in the new CR-V, which makes 190 hp at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of torque between 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. In comparison, the 2.0 litre Avancier produces 268 hp and 370 Nm.
The 240 Turbo badging on the rear of the car, shown in spyshots procured by the publication, hints that torque will be around that figure. Unlike the 2.0 litre model, which comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the 1.5 litre model will be offered with a CVT, as with other models equipped with this engine.
Elsewhere, the 1.5 litre model looks similar to the 2.0 litre model, with the same design inspired by the Concept D, albeit with a different multi-spoke design for the wheels. As standard, the car comes with halogen projector headlights, with the 2.0’s full-LED headlights available as an option. Also optional are LED fog lights, the LaneWatch blind spot monitor, a reverse camera and a panoramic sunroof.
The Avancier 1.5 litre turbo is set to go on sale in March, at a price of 220,000 yuan (RM140,200).

Oh, no. Not another Honda cater to China market only. When will Honda (M) get the Real McCoy for M’sian market ?!
This car oso not sold in jepunisland. Honda is being unfair to own country. Oh wai…
Most powerful tune of the 1.5L petrol so far. Why not offer this level of tune in the 10G Civic?
Woah. Simple a beautiful SUV. Its what the HR-V should have been. This monster engine can eat the HR-V’s outdated 1.8 underpowered engine.
The back looks exactly like my 2016 Subaru Outback rear !!!
Hope they won’t use it as a toilet…
