Volkswagen offering trade-in deals for Jetta, Passat

Volkswagen is sweetening the deal for a new Jetta and Passat with an exclusive trade-in programme – the company is offering what it claims is an “irresistible price” for Volkswagen owners, and owners of cars from other brands will also be able to benefit from “attractive trade-in prices.” The programme runs until March 31.

To recap, the facelifted Jetta was launched in September, with new features such as bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, power-adjustable leather seats and a new 150 PS/250 Nm 1.4 litre single turbo engine to replace the old twincharged unit. It’s now available in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline, priced at RM109,578, RM118,578, and RM129,578 respectively (OTR without insurance).

Meanwhile, the new B8 Passat was launched in November – all-new from the ground up, it is lighter, more spacious and quicker than before. It is available with either a 180 PS/250 Nm 1.8 litre TSI mill on the Trendline and Comfortline models or a 220 PS/350 Nm 2.0 litre TSI unit on the top-spec Highline. Prices are RM160,937, RM180,937 and RM200,030 respectively.

  • Bravo VW for trying really hard to recapture your market share after the disasterous dieselgate scandal. All the best to you but on topmof that, what scare people the most is the performance or rather the problem associated with your DSG transmission. Rectify that and perhaps in a few years time people will forgive and forget..

Same thing. From the pot to the fire. They know you are desperate to get rid of your Jetta and Passat cause it is unwanted by any used car dealer.

So, they catch you at your weakest point. You are desperate now. So, you trade in for another VW. Back to square one. Same old breakdowns. Same old problems. Same old ZERO RV issues.

Might as well get married to the tow truck driver.

Agreed. Was offered ‘irresistible’ 40k for 2011 Passat (CBU). What a joke. VW telling existing owner true value of their cars

    Becareful of VW RV

Last year, brand new buyers of Passat and Jetta all crying (Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton)

VGM (then) themselves had firesales and sold brand new Passats for RM110k. Jetta also had firesales. The buyers who bought for RM180k all started crying so much.

Imagine. If VW Malaysia sell at RM110k, 2nd hand market jatuh accordingly. Passat. becomes RM80k in the secondhand market.

Muthu is a car salesman. Muthu sells a competitor car from Sime Darby. Muthu’s sales down the drain. So Muthu tries to criticise Ali, who actually is a VW salesman. Muthu is pathetic. Dont be like Muthu.

  • I wonder how many ppl here really own a VW and have a faulty DSG. I owned a Passat CC in 2011, keep for 3 years. Bought Golf Gti and Golf 1.4 in 2014, still driving them. None give me any problem.

    • 2013 Passat CKD on Jan 20, 2017 at 2:30 pm

My 2013 Passat hasn’t had a big problem yet. Replaced the clutch once and a wheel speed sensor, that’s it. Not a big deal. No regrets, very glad I didn’t get a 2013 old gen Accord or Camry.

My neighbor has the new Passat Highline… looks awesome in person. I’ll go to the dealer this weekend and see what they will offer. Trade-in with no top-up for old loan and some discount on a new Highline would be a good deal.
