2018 Ford Mustang facelift gets revealed, unofficially

The facelifted 2018 Ford Mustang has finally been revealed, albeit unofficially, after video footage of the pony car was uploaded to YouTube by Mustang6G. According to the enthusiast forum, the car seen here is the GT 5.0 with the Performance Package.

As you can see, Ford has revised the Mustang’s styling by fitting new headlamps that now feature a small kink at the bottom. Moving on, there’s also a new bumper with more angular fog lamp sections, and those “fangs” that begin from the top of the grille now continue all the way to the bottom.

Squint a little and you’ll also notice the “pointy” power bumps on the bonnet have now been flattened out. At the rear, there are redesigned taillights that introduces a bit of curvature to the triple-unit setup, and the ‘GT’ badge no longer gets its round boss to rest on.

No shots of the interior but we should expect some changes there as well. In terms of powertrain offerings, rumours claim that Ford will drop the normally-aspirated 3.7L Cyclone V6, and retain just the 2.3L EcoBoost and 5.0L Coyote V8. Additionally, the Blue Oval’s new 10-speed auto could also join the current six-speed manual and auto units used on the current Mustang.

However, we’ll have to wait for Ford to release complete details of its new Mustang to see exactly what’s new with it, so stay tuned. For now, what do you think of the new Mustang in terms of how it looks?
