MINI Malaysia has introduced added equipment to the local MINI 3 Door and 5 Door model range. The base F56 Cooper 3 Door now comes dressed with a high gloss black grille and a tailgate handle, and LED headlamps and LED foglights are now standard for the car (previously, available as an option with the Chili package).
Inside, the Cooper 3 Door is now equipped with a dual-zone climate control system (formerly, manual) as well as a 6.5-inch MINI Visual Boost screen, complete with MINI Connected. The Cooper S 3 Door, meanwhile, adds on Comfort Access keyless start/stop, while the John Cooper Works 3 Door, introduced here in April 2015, also gets Comfort Access as well as an auto dimming rear-view mirror and the addition of a rear-view camera.
The changes going on the entry-level F56 are also to be found on the F55 MINI Cooper 5 Door – new kit consists of a high gloss black grille and a tailgate handle on top of LED headlights and fog lights. The Cooper 5 Door now also features a dual-zone climate control system. Ditto the 5 Door version of the Cooper S – Comfort Access goes on.
No mechanical changes, and so you have the familiar 136 hp and 220 Nm 1.5 litre three-cylinder on the Cooper and the 192 hp and 280 Nm B48 2.0 litre turbo four-pot on the Cooper S, with the JCW continuing on with 231 hp and 350 Nm for output numbers.
As for pricing, the MINI Cooper 3 Door now goes for RM188,888, while the Cooper S 3 Door is priced at RM229,888 and the range-topping 3 Door variant, the JCW, goes for RM293,888.
The MINI Cooper 5 Door, meanwhile, is priced at RM193,888 and the Cooper S 5 Door, RM239,888, all on-the-road without insurance. All the MINI offerings come with a four years unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service.
