Despite an unplanned reveal ahead of its official debut, the Volkswagen T-Roc continues to be teased in a new sneak peek video released by the German carmaker.
In the video, we get to see a camouflaged T-Roc being driven on gravel roads, with flashes of the words “Power,” “Design” and “Off-Road.” While we’re not certain about the power bit, we do now that the compact SUV will ride on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, and be positioned below the Tiguan.
Therefore, a mix of three- and four-cylinder engines should be made available for the T-Roc, along with VW’s 4Motion four-wheel drive system to back up its off-road prowess exhibited there. As for the design, peel away the camo, and you’ll probably see the same vehicle caught by our spy photographers earlier.
Highlights such as the hexagonal-shaped grille, sharp headlights and raked rear windscreen seen on this wrapped test mule are nearly identical to those on the undisguised vehicle spotted. The production vehicle also differs from the T-ROC concept that was first shown in 2014, although certain cues have been retained like the flared wheel arches.
