VIDEO: 2017 Volkswagen Polo teased in new videos

Even though we’ve already seen the 2017 Volkswagen Polo in its entirety thanks to previous spyshots, the German carmaker is continuing its promotional campaign for the compact, which will debut in its sixth generation in the summer.

The first of the three videos, titled What defines it? highlights some of the characteristics that makes the Polo one of the world’s best-selling cars. Meanwhile, the second video, Top class, talks about the Polo’s rise from obscurity as a small Volkswagen vehicle to being at “the top of its class.” Finally, Pure Fun focuses on what else, but the guarantee of driving pleasure.

In the three videos, we also get to see the other five generations of the Polo, from the Mk1 in 1975, to the Mk3 in 1994 and right up to the current Mk5 since 2009. The Mk6 Polo’s silhouette is shown at the end of each video, although it doesn’t really do much to build the suspense.

Anyway, the new Polo will be underpinned by the MQB A0 platform that made its debut on the new Seat Ibiza. Expect a familiar range of TSI and TDI engines to be offered as well.

The new car will also offer more interior space than its predecessor, with a 94 mm increase in wheelbase length – from 2,470 mm to 2,564 mm. On the outside, the new Polo will measure 4,053mm long and 1,751mm wide, making it 81 mm longer and 69 mm wider than before.

This car and the Golf managed to make VW the best selling car brand in the world after the original Beetle. Truly spectacular cars with wonderful drivability. Top class offerings from VW.

I will be too scared to buy this car in Malaysia. Not because of DSG issues but because DRB throw prices during their sales. Polo prices keep on dropping so much from DRB and VW Malaysia.

That is why Polo got no RV. Buy RM90k. Sell RM30k after 1 year also susah

The VW Polo begin life as a supermini since 1975. It has since gone through 5 generations & countless facelifts.

If we were to look back, it is entirely different from the first Polo. It looks more presentable, reliable especially the “normal” auto & it’s also bigger if not safer.

Fast forward to present day, the Polo is one of the most recognizable car second only to the Golf in VW stable. In February 2010 Volkswagen produced the 11,111,111th Polo worldwide making it one of the best selling car worldwide.

The ultimate Polo is none other than the one used by WRC multiple champion Mr Sebastian Ogier. Unfortunately, VW decided to pull it’s factory team out of WRC & the rest is history now. Long live the supermini called Polo.

The Polo we get here is it the same as the Polo sold in North America, Europe?

Also, must bring in the manual transmission!
