C238 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe teased ahead of official Malaysian market launch on July 27, 2017

The new C238 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé is set to be launched in Malaysia this Thursday, July 27, according to a teaser image released by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. The midsize two-door offering will hence enter the market just about a year after its four-door sibling, the W213 sedan.

Expect the model lineup to mirror the sedan with E 200 and E 250 models, although the range-topping variant will likely be the E 300 instead of the four-door’s upcoming E 350 e plug-in hybrid. All three are powered by the same 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in 184 hp/300 Nm (E 200), 211 hp/350 Nm (E 250) and 245 hp/370 Nm (E 300) tunes, matched to a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.

The coupé model should also get much the same kit, the highlight being the Widescreen Cockpit that features twin 12.3-inch high-definition displays for infotainment and instruments. Multibeam LED headlights, Keyless-Go, Nappa leather upholstery and a Burmester sound system should also feature on upper variants.

Don’t expect it to come cheap, however – the C-Class Coupé retails between RM46,000 and a whopping RM81,000 more than the equivalent sedans, so the E-Class Coupé should carry similar premiums.
