UMW Toyota Motor recently introduced the Toyota Innova 2.0X as the range-topping variant of the MPV model, priced at RM132,800 on-the-road without insurance. For a better look at the new variant, we now bring you a full gallery of the 2.0X for your evaluation.
The main draw of the 2.0X can be found on the inside, where you’ll find two captain chairs in the middle row (with retractable cup holders, a seatback table and individual armrests). As a result, the 2.0X is a seven-seater following a 2-2-3 layout, instead of eight.
There’s more goodies here too, as the 2.0X is the only Innova to receive leather upholstery as well as an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, which is a step up from the standard six-way manual adjustable one on other variants. The front passenger seat retains is four-way manual adjustability on all variants.
The rest of the equipment list is similar to the 2.0G, including wood trim, front/rear auto air con, Optitron instrument panel with a 4.2-inch colour multi-info display, foldable seatback tables, ambient lighting, reverse camera, leather-wrapped steering with wood trim, easy closer tailgate, keyless entry with push start, and an eight-inch DVD-AVX infotainment system.
On the exterior, the 2.0X adopts a “crossover concept,” with overfenders on the wheel arches plus unique lower back and back door garnish. There’s also chrome trim on the front and front rear under spoilers with chrome accents, plus chrome black moulding along the window sills.
Another addition here are the exclusive 17-inch black alloys with 215/55 tyres, which are an inch larger than on the other variants. The 2.0X comes with LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED foglamps.
Under the bonnet, the 2.0X is powered by a 2.0 litre Dual VVT-i engine with 139 PS and 183 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission, and drivers will have access to Eco and Power drive modes.
For safety, the 2.0X is fitted with seven airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, VSC and hill start assist, which are standard across the Innova range. There’s also a range of optional accessories including a “Panoramic View Monitor” and Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Full specifications of the Innova range can be found on CarBase.my.

Look weird..
It’s a poor man’s Estima.
X is too late & too little, still pricy expensive … also ^highest fuel consumption among competitor… so sad, still no improvement, no beneficial, no convincing…!
ugly looking van.. nissan vennette looks better than this car..
so sorry toyota lovers.. super-hodoh..
exora lagi lawa..kih3
Comfort – Captain chairs
Looks – Crossover concept
Economy – 2.0 Dual VVT-i
Practical – 7 seater.
No comfort – factory worker van chairs
Looks – fail, super hodoh
Feul – fuel guzzler
Not practical – it is 6 seater
Don’t be fooled by its EEV status. In real world, the fuel economy is bad especially with full load. At that price, you can even get a much bigger and more comfortable Estima or even a previous generation Alphard.
Checked out the car and the “leather” seats feel like PVC, not only that, the door panels are still having the original fabric inserts instead of the matching “leather” material. What a half baked job.
me. Even combination leather on some cars feels better than that.
OMG! the wheel and wheel arch gap is so huge!
so huge the gap that you can stuff a luggage bag in there.
Still waiting for Diesel version. 2.0 seems under power for a 7 seater.
How about diesel model?
Diesel engine mana??
Over price.
How this pickup base model price to high?
last time Toyota Unser only 75K…
Last time, US1 = RM3.8
Last time, no 2.0 litre Dual VVT-i engine
Last time, no 7 airbags, EBD, BA & VSC
Last time, no LED headlamps & LED daytime running lights
Last time, you are 10 years younger
Last time. you are less wiser.
Well, by now, I think U got it bcos U are a Wise Guy Right!
A family “bus” from Toyota that cost 132k???
I better buy a 2nd hand Estima…..
I just can’t stand the school van, or van pekerja kilang look of this Innova….
Smart choice. Toyota is the world’s most valuable car brand!
my father’s innova still maintain its solidness and comfortness although involved in front accidental crash in 2007
Bad taste rus in the family ka ? kihkih
No comfort coz it is bouncing like hell
You must be living in an area with silky smooth roads or you have a spine of steel to say the Innova is comfortable.
i don’t know what words to describe but it’s eeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr………. hideous…., scary…., ugly…, jaw dropping darth vader…, disgusting…., bitter gourd ….
With that price, bagus beli Nissan serena Hybrid saja la…. at least the 3rd row seats are so comfortable. Rather then having yourself squeezing into those dwalf 3rd row seats in the Innova. Price wise may differ by a fraction. But I guess you can window shop around for the best price they can offer. Better value for money.
Diesel? Well, like Toyota UMW’s moto U-Must-Wait… 2018. Hope for a budget 7 seater diesel Innova? When the price is out, you might think twice and to get a fortuner 2.4 instead or go lower budget of the Kia Sorento or Hyundai Santa Fe.
fugly as hell, nothing changed on core just put cosmetic which very unmatch. hahahahaha.
Something must be seriously wrong with Malaysia when a glorified van is near RM140k (with insurance)
Few years ago, that was Camry prices.
I think Malaysians are still being conned with the highest car prices in the world.
By the way, the Innova in India is RM75k. RM75k vs RM140k?????
“Few years ago, that was Camry prices.”
Few years now, this is still the Camry prices. So what has changed? The prices or ur jepunis lords greed?
Few years ago, promised 30% prices reduced. Oh waii…
Few years ago, we pay RM3.8 to a US dollar. So what has changed?
To say its overpriced, i kinda agree, but to say its 75k there its a bit bullshit, the same version as this in India is RM114,434.
N then take into the equation, labor cost, and the market size. About 3,000,000 (3 million) sales a year. Probably making parts there itself in their country. more production lesser costs.
We are a small nation with like 500,000 – 6 times lesser, and with even lesser sales in the MPV market, u think toyota would want to invest in building parts here?
This is also why cars in America(20,000,000) is much cheaper or in the European Union (20,000,000). yes lesser tax but the VOLUME is so crazy huge! Mass production means lesser cost.
oh by the way… the camry Hybrid there is selling at RM241,553.00…. so Malaysia cheaper ah?
N yes because of our policy for CKD hybrid here. Each country has its own hurdles and standards to adhere to.
Granted UMW Toyota has a high margin,…infact every company has. but the reality is, even toyota is doing bad to support its huge network in Malaysia. The highest sales number year according to MAA report was in 2012……
Can’t fathom why even long-time car makers can create strange-looking vehicles in these day and age. What are they trying to do? They’ve become tired of winning and want to experience loss? It defies logic.
Toyota should change the 3rd row seats too.
This Innova X should come with Hilux 2.4 diesel engine
is it me or the innova price is increasing at each version they come out
what was the price when first innova launch in malaysia?
I don’t know about you guys. I think it looks gorgeous. But I would change the rims to fortuner. I like bulky tires.
Yea. It looks fine to me. I have driven the new hilux recently and the fuel usage was amazing. But I am not sure about this model. It looks to be not on par.
I thought they r going to bring the 2.4 diesel ?
Innova team need to be more innovative in terms of creative design. They might be bright with their Fortuner, Alphard,Vellfire and Previa, but please… Innova need a new leaf of design.
