Renault Koleos Initiale Paris introduced in the UK

The Renault Koleos Initiale Paris has been introduced in the United Kingdom, several months after it made its debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The Initiale Paris is essentially the plushest Koleos you can buy, and there’s plenty of equipment to justify that.

Priced at 36,700 British pounds (RM200,630) on-the-road, the Initiale Paris comes in an exclusive body colour known as Amethyst. Other exterior cues include a set of 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, full LED ‘Pure Vision’ headlights, powered automatic tailgate and model-specific badging.

While that doesn’t sound like a lot of gains for the 9,200 British pounds (RM50,294) premium over a base Koleos, the interior tells a different story. For starters, you get two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and an 8.7-inch R-Link 2 infotainment system with TomTom live traffic updates, plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

There’s also a bevy of standard safety and driver assistance systems – Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition with Over-speed Prevention and Hill Start Assist. This is together with the reverse camera, front and rear parking sensors, ESC with traction control, cruise control, speed limiter, six airbags and an electrochromatic rearview mirror.

The Koleos Initiale Paris can only be ordered with the dCi 175 2.0 litre diesel engine, which is paired with an X-Tronic automatic CVT and All Mode 4×4-I four-wheel drive system. The mill makes 177 PS and 380 Nm of torque, good enough for a claimed fuel consumption of 17 km/l (NEDC combined cycle), top speed of 201 km/h and a zero to 100 km/h time of 9.5 seconds.
