The Mazda CX-4 is the next model being referenced by Zotye, as it plans to launch a new model under its Traum brand, codenamed MA501. If you’re familiar with the Chinese company’s previous creations, this is another one of those “copycat” cases.
According to these photos posted by CarNewsChina, the shape of the MA501 is nearly identical to the CX-4, albeit with a few tweaks – the automotive equivalent of the “can I copy your homework?” meme.
Among the highlights are a grille that sports an extra horizontal slat, chrome trim for the fog lamp enclosures and new light guides within the headlights. There is also plastic body cladding on the car’s body just like the CX-4, but with the addition of more chrome trim along the bottom edges of the doors and windowline.
At the rear, the taillights have been tweaked to look significantly larger than on the CX-4, and there are bigger exhaust outlets too. The source stated the new Traum model will be launched in the second half of 2018, where it will be available with a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine with 150 hp.
