Audi Universal Traffic Recorder now available in M’sia – single- and dual-camera setups, priced from RM2,827

Last year, it was announced that the Audi Universal Traffic Recorder (UTR) will be offered in Malaysia, and customers here can now order the Audi Genuine Accessory.

Two versions are available, with the first being a front-facing camera only, while the other is a dual-camera (front and rear) setup. The former is priced at RM2,827 inclusive of GST and the latter at RM3,476 – available for the current A4, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q5 and Q7.

The UTR device is equipped with a full HD camera, radar, GPS, G-shock sensor and a removable 8GB SD card. There’s three surveillance modes – Standard, Parking and Event – whereby the first begins recording when the engine is started, and only stops when the engine is turned off.

Should you need the device to continue recording after that, there is Parking mode – recording starts when the engine is turned off and continues for more than 72 hours. Finally, Event mode will automatically begin recording in the event the accelerometer detects extreme braking, likely during situations when a collision is imminent. The device also features radar-based recording, which is triggered when motion is detected.

A dedicated app for both iOS and Android smartphones allows users to connect to the UTR, allowing them to adjust various recording and camera settings as well as access the live view, video gallery and car finder functions.

This should be law in Malaysia. Government should make it compulsory for all car manufacturers to give camera compulsory.

But hopefully PDRM co-operate. Nowadays, even with camera evidence, PDRM so lazy to investigate and want to tutup kes asap.

and what does that have to do with the statement:
“even with camera evidence, PDRM so lazy to investigate and want to tutup kes asap.”,

which we know was made in bad faith, framing the entire force in a bad light.
