Peugeot 408 now with 2yr free insurance worth RM10k

Launched in Malaysia in April, the Peugeot 408 is one of the more interesting cars you can buy today. You can argue till the cows come home if it’s an SUV, a hatchback or an estate, or you can just smile and enjoy the best of all three worlds.

The 408 comes in RM146,055 Allure, RM166,055 Premium and RM196,055 GT variants, OTR before insurance. Buy a Premium or a GT variant before 2024 goes away and you’ll get two years’ free insurance worth RM10,000. Make haste, because you’ve less than 30 days left!

Under that long bonnet resides a road tax-friendly 1.6 litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine that still sends a healthy 218 PS and 300 Nm of torque to the front wheels through an eight-speed auto.

The mid-spec Premium already has lots of stuff including 18-inch alloys, six speakers, leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, a 10-inch digital instrument panel and a 10-inch touchscreen, but the range-topping GT throws in 20-inch alloys, 10 Focal Premium speakers, auto matrix LED headlamps, 3D ‘claw effect’ LED tail lamps, Nappa leather, plus driver seat memory and massage.

Safety is taken care of by six airbags, advanced AEB, ACC, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, hill start assist, advanced traffic sign recognition and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Moreover, you’ll get a seven-year/200,000 km extended warranty as standard (up from the usual five years/150,000 km), plus five years’ free service (your last chance to get this). How’s that for peace of mind?

Why give all these goodies when the actual thing that stop people buying is the price.

beautiful car but rarely seen on the road. I guess the reputation of this brand is still bad and not trusted by malaysian market. how long can peugeot survive in malaysia this time? leadership of the company seems clueless to increase revenue.

drop the price by 50k. maybe got people buy. and maybe also look at the locations you place your showrooms. im not sure why peugeot has a showroom at kajang and semenyih when there is 0 market there but no convenient showrooms at PJ or Subang

    • Bcos the major dealers in these areas would not want to invest in a brand which is losing money and unable to re-coup their investements. Furthermore rentals in these areas are expensive so better the invest in a brand which are more profitable.

Then good luck trying to sell your cars to people that generally only buy hilux and rangers. Maybe peugeot should consider opening showrooms at cameron highlands or sarikei too
