2027 Toyota Harrier – next-generation to get 1.5L turbo engine, SUV coupe version of latest RAV4

The next-generation Toyota Harrier will reportedly debut in 2027, and the upcoming model will be powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged hybrid powertrain, according to Best Car Web. Here, visual rendering maestro Theophilus Chin has offered his take on what the fifth-generation SUV could look like, using elements from the Toyota C-HR and RAV4.

Here, the upcoming fifth-generation model has been visually rendered using the current model Harrier/Venza as its base, albeit with elements from Toyota’s latest models such as the C-HR and RAV4.

The front fascia draws from the 2026 RAV4 in its lower section, while the headlamp assemblies of a more pointed design appear to be more alike those of the new, e-TNGA-based battery-electric C-HR. At the rear, the tail lamps are also adapted from the C-HR, where the full-width element is augmented by a four-segment LED assembly is used on this Harrier rendition.

Along the sides, Theo has used more angular surfacing compared to that on the current, fourth-generation Harrier, with the crease lines running diagonally along the side of the vehicle while the trapezoidal lower cladding section used here is similar in shape to those on the C-HR and RAV4.

Lower down, the tailgate appears to be adapted from the C-HR as well, with its mid-mounted license plate position, and the rear bumper gets the C-HR’s split diffuser styling. Higher up, the daylight opening from the current fourth-generation Harrier is used, with a frameless look for the section aft of the C-pillar, while the rear window angle is somewhere between that of the sloping C-HR and the more upright RAV4.

Codenamed XU80, the current, fourth-generation Harrier made its debut in April 2020, using the GA-K derivative of Toyota’s TNGA architecture and brought the carmaker’s range of Dynamic Force petrol and petrol-electric hybrid powertrains, replacing the 2.0 litre turbo petrol unit of its predecessor.

The fifth-generation Toyota Harrier is expected to debut in 2027; what do you think of this rendition?
