Selangor JPJ auctions 200 vehicles for over RM277k

The Selangor road transport department (JPJ) has auctioned off 175 motorcycles, eight cars, seven panel vans, nine rigid lorries and one prime mover under its third and final vehicle public auction for 2025, raking in RM277,030 and surpassing the RM133,580 overall reserve, Bernama reports.

“The vehicles auctioned have gone through the proper forfeiture processes, including notification to the owners, forfeiture application and court order, before being allowed to be auctioned to the public,” Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan said, adding that the seized vehicles were not claimed by their owners within the stipulated period.

Two earlier auctions this year collected RM313,140 from 243 vehicles. Azrin urged owners of seized vehicles to come forward and file claims before the forfeiture process starts, saying that JPJ allows ample time and opportunity for owners to reclaim their vehicles, after which, auctioning is the final step required by law.
