In Japan, Toyota says that it will be resurrecting the hybrid version of its Alphard MPV for the domestic market, in response to customer demand. The hybrid variant of the vehicle made its debut in 2003 with the first-generation Alphard, but production ceased in 2008.
According to reports, Toyota says that the new Alphard hybrid – which will wear a 150 PS 2AZ-FXE 2.4 litre four pot block as well as a 105 kW 2JM front / 50 kW 2FM rear electric motor combination – will get 19 km per litre, which is a 10% improvement over its predecessor. The company will also add a hybrid variant to the Vellfire.
Both models go on sale in Japan in late November, and the company is targeting a combined monthly sales figure of 2,000 units.

domestic market pun laku jg kat jepon…
go Bangkok please, 25% of Alphard and Estima in the city are hybrid
Wait lah till 2015 for the recon version.
And I thought the Vellfire has replaced the Alphard?
Vellfire is like the cool version of the Alphard. Alphard still exists but made for a lil more matured audience.

Not all are reconds la bro.It is possible to get brand new Alphards and Vellfires from AP holders like Naza.
Ni rasanya budak taska belum tau lg.Bro Annoying Orange dari taska mana??
P/S-Do know the differences between RECONDITIONED and being brought by GREY IMPORTERs.

tapi org ttp beli beli dari recond juga..murah sesedap rasa..
naza bila nak bw veyron nie..autoshow dh nak dekat veyron x sampai lg…
naza brought in a lot of almost new cars, declared as used to escape from heavy taxes and custom duties.
but there are times when the odometer has been tampered as attraction. if the service booklet is still in the car, though most probably in japanese… look out for the last service, date and match the mileage. one maybe in for a surprise.
diesel with hybrid wont suit together bcos both has peak torque at low rev and leave nothing at high rev. meaning when accelerate u feel nothing
I heard Custom revised the duties on MPV like alphard. Is this true??
If so, they will be totally priced out of the market even for the recons,
toyota pushing big on hybrids now, i wonder why the alphard/vellfire is not using the 2.5 hybrid as found in the new camry.
if compare with normal version of alphard 3.0..
the FC is around 8~11km/l
Anybody using 2003-2008 Alphard Hybrid here? Any problem so far?
my fellow avoc member, problem no but you need to standby $ to replace the battery as at when needed.. the lifespan most likely 5-7 years. fyi, he done it twice and the car well served him until today..
