You’ve read about it earlier in the day, now BMW Malaysia has officially announced the arrival of the facelifted X6, which it says will be in BMW dealerships nationwide from this Saturday, 14 July.

The X6 LCI will be available in xDrive35i form, which means a 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine with 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The twin-turbo engine is mated to an eight-speed sports automatic transmission with steering paddles. Dynamic Performance Control is part of the xDrive AWD system. It electronically controls power distribution to optimise stability, traction and dynamic performance.

Looks wise, the X6’s kidney grills gets a “three-dimensional chrome frame” and newly designed bars that are angled in the lower section. As mentioned earlier, the facelift comes with white corona rings that aren’t full circles. An upgrade from the standard bi-xenons, the X6 is fitted with Adaptive LED headlights. The light sources for low and high beam light are LED units positioned on a horizontal bar at its centre, feeding their light into the reflectors in front.

Meanwhile, the fog lights with matte surrounds are now spaced apart on the front apron along the upper section of the air inlets. These, and the new L-shaped LED taillights, emphasise the X6’s width.

Moving inside, all-new Nevada leather is standard, and there’s an optional Vermillion Red finish for those looking for something different. BMW ConnectedDrive, Head-Up Display, rear-view camera with Top View, Navigation System Professional as well as extended Bluetooth functions featuring Bluetooth office, Bluetooth Audio Streaming and on-board internet are all standard.

    • good comment bro.. everytime malaysia has a new n luxury car being launched. sure have ppl pop up from nowhere to claim they cant afford it. tax is high. seldom will have ppl come to appreciate the car. at least Bimmer fan like me.. im telling u guys, even without tax the car wont be cheap. they will have excise duty. tranportation fee n storage fee bla bla.. maybe it will be cheaper. but nowhere lower than 400k i think.

This is not a car for the masses.

People buy this car for the same reason one would a 3 carat diamond. For the pride of ownership.

Taxes contribution to the high prices of car in Malaysia is across the board. Period.

Evoque is looking better on design, but definitely not on the performance. only the torque from the diesel engine makes evoque preferable on overtaking any car.

    • Totally diff class altogether, evoque is a compact suv while this is a SAV. more of a coupe SUV.

Amazing how some people compare apples with oranges. How can you even compare an Evoque to an X6?

    the generalisation is amazing!
