If you’ve bought yourself a new third-gen Ford Focus, or have already booked one, here’s some news of interest. Ford has announced details for its All-New Ford Focus Challenge, with all customers taking delivery of their car by December 31 being eligible to participate.
The All-New Ford Focus Challenge consists of three competition stages that will take place early next year, with the winner driving away with the grand prize, which happens to be a new Focus Titanium sedan.
Customers who have placed an order and taken delivery of a Focus will be notified via SMS and email after the contest closing date on December 31, alerting them about the first stage of the challenge.
This will take place at the end of January 2013 – 20 questions will be sent to each contestant via email and SMS, who will be given a specific timeframe to submit answers. Contestants who send the correct answers before the deadline will move on to the second leg.
The second leg of the challenge will test the creativity of the participants, who will be asked to complete a unique slogan related to the new Focus. From this stage, 20 finalists will be selected to enter the grand finale in February, where two elimination rounds will determine who will drive away with the own Focus Titanium sedan.
In addition to the grand prize, additional prizes are up for grabs, including a 10-day seven-night trip for two to Spain, an eight-day five-night trip for two to Australia as well as Nokia Lumia 800 smartphones and AEON Jusco shopping vouchers. Find out more at www.ford.net.my or on the brand’s Facebook page. We’ve driven the car, of course – read Danny’s Thai-drive review here.

Instead of giving prizes, Sime Darby should ensure that existing Ford owners get their parts fast. Waiting few months for common parts is unheard of in any part of the world except in Malaysia and with Ford. Langgar bumper also have to wait 3 months. Improve your service first before running all sorts of contest. Respect your existing customers, not just your new buyers.
Anyway, why give a Ford Focus to a new customer who has already bought a Ford Focus? Isn’t that heights of stupidity? Better to give a cash reward of RM100,000, a more logical move. Datuk Lawrence, please change your marketing team lah at SDAC.
Ha Ha Ha I have never seen anything so stupid like this. Its like saying buy 1 wife and get another wife free instead of saying, get married and win a honeymoon holiday. Aiyoo SDAC, you all are so so stupid. How to buy from a company that potrays stupidity like this?
Wah.. like like your comment…. “heights of stupidity” …
No EcoBoost or TDCi, no sale!
SD has to do better than running a contest. How about increasing their Ford service centers?
We Malaysians are in dire need of the TDCI…
well said bruv…i share your plight… (-_-)
We Malaysians are in dire need of a quality diesel fuel..
how bout u dont b a smart ass~~
By a Focus, and stand to win another Focus.
The marketing team of SDAC should be shot.
What is the point of promotion when dealers are uninterested to sell? Checked out the car at the Jalan Masjid Negeri outlet in Penang. But the salesman has huge attitude problem.
Haha..fully agree with you. You should try the Jln Ipoh (KL) branch too. Went there early this year to have a look at Ford Mondeo. Nobody showed any interest to welcome you as a prospective client. It was the cleaner lady that politely ask me what I want. And eventually pointed to 2 person who was busy playing with their smartphone as the salesperson on duty. I have to walk to them, not they walk to me. Anyway, no I didn’t buy a Ford, settled for another brand instead.
OMG… wait 3 month for a bumper replacement?
I am having second thought to get the Focus…
Ford’s new cars are all very nice..but aftersales aiyaak
Ford is under Sime Darby, right? hardly surpising…
SIme Darby need to change their approach in automotive business. have some passion, instead of FOCUSing on generating profit.
improve customer satisfaction area first, that is the most basic thing. look at how successful umw toyota today. they began their struggle meeting customer expectations in the 1980s and they have been no.1 in non-national automotive sales, no matter how ugly their cars are. and not matter how much bashing they received in this blog nontheless. its harvesting time for them.
Sime Darby, dont expect magic to take place overnight. the corporate mindset need a little shift.
when the winer wins the Focus, he/she will quickly sell it away just like the winner for the Yes 4G Inspira.
This time it might be sold off for a VW!
i admit the ford cars design and quality improved a lots.
the after sales service, still sucks…yet prevent me to grab fiesta…
now i can consider honda city…
sure can win meh? wont happen lor coz the winner will be either their family or frens.
Amazing …. not a single comment above supports the promotion. With an increasing number of informed customers, I suppose many are aware that promotions like these may result in short term spikes in sales but will not build brand loyalty. For that, you need years of consistent improvement on both sales and after sales. Right now, it seems from the feedback here, both departments are in serious need of revamp.
Thanks for the valueble comments which letting me change my mind that say no to ford
Naza now did well to build customer acceptance for peugeot and kia brand. And another one Mazda catching up behind Naza. SD should take notice otherwise please sell ford focus at rm90k otr
