The Toyota Hybrid-R Concept gets teased a second time ahead of its Frankfurt debut. This time, the Japanese carmaker has released some more details – the concept is based on a current production model, and 400 hp is set to come from a powertrain that features similar tech to that used by the Toyota TS030 Hybrid Le Mans racer.
More specifics will undoubtedly come to light in the weeks to follow, but we just couldn’t wait. We brightened up the original teaser image (the darker one in the gallery below) to reveal a familiar outline and shape (above). Could, then, the Hybrid-R Concept be based on the humble Toyota Yaris? If it turns out to be so, that’s 400 horses in a Yaris! But it’s a concept, after all.
