Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R concept – even more details

Toyota-Yaris-Hybrid-R-08

Additional details have been let loose of the Frankfurt-bound Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R – the concept features new-design headlamps, a wider front grille and black and blue detailing to offset the white body colour.

A reworked front bumper incorporates two large air intakes – which help to cool the front brakes – and blue LED DRLs. The flared wheelarches house bespoke 18-inch TRD alloys wrapped in 225/40 Michelin Sport Cup rubber.

Round the back, you’ll find LED tail lamps, a roof spoiler and a redesigned rear bumper with a large diffuser, where a tailpipe is framed by two air extractors.

Providing the stopping power are grooved and perforated brake discs, which are gripped by six-piston callipers up front and four-piston callipers out back. A quick-opening fuel filler cap is located on the C-pillar.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by two-tone Recaro bucket seats and blue Alcantara on the steering wheel, door panels and dashboard. There are sport pedals from the Toyota 86, and the steering wheel features a button to select between Road, Track or Boost function modes.

    This or Caterham Seven 165?

Same 0-60 acceleration. Same CO2 emission.
For petrol head, better get Caterham Seven 165 but for practicality, get this hybrid R.

    • Take off the hybrid system and leave the turbocharged engine and it goes faster. Looks like the R stands for retarding the end potential than racing.

Crazy Toyota engineer, there is tons of car for them to test out their new Hybrid system but they use a Yaris instead.
