BMW Malaysia teases new F32 4 Series on Facebook

BMW_4_Series_teaser

BMW Malaysia has put up this not-so-subtle teaser on its Facebook page. The picture above is accompanied by the words “Something fourmidable is coming…” Told you it’s not subtle. So yes, the F32 BMW 4 Series is coming to Malaysia. And soon, by the looks of it.

A Sport line F32 4 Series is shown. That’s one of four trim lines available in international markets: Luxury, Modern, Sport and M Sport. Expect the last two options – most befitting of the F32’s sporty image – to be offered here in Malaysia. You can check out the M Sport-kitted 4 Series in our gallery here.

The vent below the Sport badge above is not merely a cosmetic item; it actually has an aerodynamic purpose. BMW calls it the Air Breather, and it works in tandem with the Air Curtains integrated into the front bumper to funnel and extract air around and away from the front wheels, cutting turbulence and drag while improving fuel efficiency. And it looks good doing it, doesn’t it?

As for engine options, both the 428i and full-fat 435i should make an appearance. The former has a 245 hp and 350 Nm of torque from a 2.0 litre turbo four, while the range-topping 435i employs a 3.0 litre turbocharged inline-six with 306 hp and 400 Nm. Both have ZF-sourced eight-speed auto’boxes, and can get to 100 km/h in 5.8 and 5.4 seconds respectively.

Our man Jonathan has driven the 435i Sport in Portugal and around the famed Estoril circuit. It’s a lot more than just a two-door F30 3 Series, he can tell you that much. Read his comprehensive test drive report here.

Full details on the Malaysian-spec F32 BMW 4 Series when it’s officially launched here. Stay tuned.

  • Such a shame that our tax structure is based on CC, the 435i will probably launch at close to 1/2 mil, when it really ought to be 300-350k range. Guess have to wait for the recond 435i to start arriving in 1-2 years time

Honestly i still prefer, the previous generation’s E90 BMW 3 series and Coupe. The current design seems to be finding ways to improve over the previous proven design. Which is not an easy task. For the Double grill to join to the headlamps.. I would said it’s quite hard to continue that design throughout the entire BMW series..maybe for G coded next generation will come back to old design again.

The 4 door 335i already cost 488k. The 435i will be at least rm550k. Top up another 60k and you get the new Porsche Cayman S, faster and better handling car. Which would you get? No brainer for me.
