SPYSHOTS: Next-gen Audi Q7 set to lose some weight

Audi Q7 second-gen

Both the Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen Touareg have received their second generation models, which leaves the Audi Q7 as the only platform-mate that hasn’t received the ‘all-new’ title yet.

Perhaps it’s a case of save the best for last then – from the spyshots we have here, the Q7 is set to get a big update on the front end, featuring the next generation interpretation of Audi’s family grille.

The Q7 is also set to lose a lot of weight – up to 400 kg is the number bandied about. Some of that weight loss could be from a reduction in size with perhaps the third row of seats being eliminated – the prototype here does look smaller and less imposing than the current generation Q7.

The Toyota Hilux is a better buy than this Q7. Looks sexier as well. All women fantasy is the construction worker and his pick up.

Brand-new Q7 is for the rich.
Do not lose weight, size, as well as weight, does matter in the event of a crash.
