SPIED: 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet

S-Cabrio-2

Mercedes-Benz hasn’t built a drop trop version of the S-Class since the old W111 “Fintail” from the 60s, but it looks like the S-Class Cabriolet is set to make a comeback with this latest edition.

Our spies have caught a prototype of the flagship convertible on test – it looks like the S-Class Coupe, but notice it has a different roof. We hear that the roof is most likely going to be a fabric roof.

Malaysian rendering whiz Theophilus Chin has produced this set of images showing how an S-Class Cabriolet could look like. There’s going to be plenty driving up and down the coasts of Florida for sure.

We’re expecting a similiar line-up to the S-Class Coupe which was unveiled at Geneva 2014 – an S 500 Convertible powered by a 4.7 litre twin-turbo V8 being the sole non-AMG variant followed by an S 63 AMG.

Really like Theophilus’ rendering of it, hopefully it comes out like that.
