Qoros is set to unveil the second generation of its connected services platform – QorosQloud 2.0 – at the Guangzhou motor show in a few days’ time. The Chinese-Israeli carmaker says QorosQloud 2.0 will feature more social media integration, as well as being easier and more fun to use.
Quite impressive, given that the original QorosQloud is barely a year old, having debuted on the Qoros 3 Sedan. The cloud-enhanced free-for-life services comprise 3G, vehicle monitoring, social networking and enhanced navigation.
QorosQloud is Windows Azure-based and is delivered via China Unicom’s 3G network. Besides through Qoros’ eight-inch 800×600 capacitive MMH touch-screen, the services can also be accessed from a smartphone, tablet or laptop via an app.
Young it may be, but Qoros is fast-growing – the carmaker is only a few years old, and already it has a sedan and a hatch on sale. The sedan is not only the safest Chinese car ever made, but Euro NCAP’s top scorer in 2013. The third album is the Qoros 3 City SUV, which is also Guangzhou-bound.
