Volkswagen Malaysia and Swire Motors recently hosted a ground breaking event to mark the start of construction for Volkswagen Puchong North, which when completed, will be the largest VW dealer facility in Malaysia. It will also be the second Volkswagen Technical Service Centre in the country.
The 4S showroom will have the capacity to display up to 16 models, while the after-sales section will have 25 service bays. The Technical Service Centre will boast the most comprehensive after-sales machinery and a full team of Volkswagen certified master technicians to handle all kinds of jobs, VW says. There will also be a body and paint workshop.
“We are very happy to have Swire Group find this investment prospect in Malaysia through Volkswagen. This will help the local market in many ways – from job opportunity for locals to expanding the automotive industry here. Volkswagen Malaysia is excited about the opportunities of growth this partnership offers,” said Armin Keller, MD of Volkswagen Malaysia.
“Swire Group’s close partnership with Volkswagen started in Taiwan and we are happy to be extending this business relationship to Malaysia. We find this market an attractive one as it is constantly growing therefore it seemed natural to embark on our automotive venture here through this iconic German brand,” said Eric Khoo, GM of Swire Motors SEA.
Swire Motors is a subsidiary of Swire Pacific, a company listed and traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Established in Taiwan in the 1970s, Swire has grown to become one of the largest automobile distribution companies in Asia, with more than 30 years of experience in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.
The construction of Volkswagen Puchong North is expected to be completed in November 2015.

Why would anybody buy a VW? One extra SC isn’t going to make any difference to the overcrowded SCs stacked with cars with defective DSG gearboxes waiting to be repaired. They still have to wait months for parts. They are just buying into a nightmarish ownership experience.

Good job vw. They’ve really show their effort here. I’m really like to see this kind of efficiency. Once owner or haters complain about VW after sales service is bad. They will come up the resolve and improve it. Respect~~~ better than others although their product is bad and received tons of complain but still not come up with any resolve or changes.

The VW service center in Puchong is not fully equipped. They don’t do alligment and balancing service. If additional request like checking on door and suspension, the reception staff name Lee Ek Shin started to show face to me. He threaten to say that add in suspension check will need additional 4. To 5 hours time. It seems that they don’t like customer to impose additional checking beside command service Maintainance. Very poor service is my first impression.
