Heico previews styling package for new Volvo XC90

Notable Volvo tuner Heico Sportiv has released these three images of the new Volvo XC90 with its customisation programme, which includes a bodykit, the brand’s Volution wheels in mega sizes and an engine sound enhancement system called Selected Sound.

The renderings show a green XC90 that’s slightly more aggressive than Volvo’s own R-Design kit, with the new bits cleanly integrated. “Our products cannot look like add-ons – after all, our customers expect a harmonious, overall work of art. As always, our new Volvo XC90 bodykit will also fulfill that expectation,” said Heico’s MD Holger Hedtke.

The bodykit comprises a front spoiler with a centric plastic lamella mesh, a rear skirt that includes a mesh-structured lower section, as well as four integrated pipes. The standard fog lamps are retained, and so can the stock exhaust.

All parts were constructed using computer aided design and are plug and play. The components also come with a registration-free general operating license (ABE) including pedestrian protection testing.

For wheels, the German-based company offers rims that are one-inch larger than the maximum offered by Volvo. The 23-inch forged wheel is 15% lighter and comes with ten curved spokes. Available from August, it can be optionally delivered with 315/25 ContiSportContact 5P tyres. The set you see here is a 22-inch Volution rim with five concave spokes, paired with 285/35 rubber.

Lastly, Selected Sound, a Heico-developed sport exhaust system with integrated subwoofer. With an “e.motion” controller, relevant data such as speed, rpm, load status and accelerator position are forwarded from to a sound processor with amplifier to generate “V8 sound”. Drivers can choose between standard, “unobtrusively sporty” and “pure V8 sound pleasure”.

Selected Sound will initially only be available for the Versatile Engine Architecture (VEA) T6 engine, a 320 hp, 400 Nm supercharged and turbocharged four-pot. Besides the above, Heico also has e.motion performance enhancements for D4, D5, T5 and T6 engines, exhaust systems, lowered suspension and bespoke leather trim in the catalogue.
