Nissan Navara bullbars retain five-star ANCAP rating

Nissan Navara Bullbar-02

The Genuine Accessories bullbars offered for the Nissan NP300 Navara in Australia has been certified with a five-star ANCAP crash safety rating, CarAdvice reports. This essentially means that the bullbars will function appropriately with the vehicle’s safety systems.

Extensive tests were conducted in both Australia and Tochigi, Japan. It’s a result of two years’ design and engineering work, including a “multitude of necessary tests,” one of which involves engine cooling performance. This is to ensure that they meet market regulations as well as Nissan’s durability standards were met, according to Nissan Australia.

“Nissan’s steel and aluminium bullbars have been carefully designed and engineered to work in complete harmony with all of the NP300 Navara’s structural elements and onboard safety system,” said Nissan Australia’s CEO and managing director, Richard Emery.

“Safety, quality and durability don’t occur by accident, and these bullbars for the all-new NP300 Navara definitely show that genuine is best when it comes to vehicle accessories and parts,” he concluded.

Prices of the optional bullbars in Australia range from AUD$1,080 (RM3,370) for the smaller nudge bar, while the steel bullbar costs AUD$2,765 (RM8,620) and the alloy bullbar retails for AUD$3,180 (RM9,920).

The Nissan NP300 Navara will be launched in Malaysia soon, with estimated prices ranging from RM85,000 to RM125,000. Full details of all six variants heading to the market here.

Damn this looks great… I like how the bumper follows the curves of the body, instead of just being a slab of metal like most after market bullbars.

Wondering if Ford/Ranger have such Genuine Accs bullbars?

Most 4×4 accessories shops do sell those bullbars… They look nice bt has no safety credentials.. Since they are only held by a couple of screws…

then what about the pedestrians and other motorists?
all it does was to cripple ’em more painfully and fatally should a collision happens.
