Over in the US, Ford has announced the introduction of a Sport Appearance Package for the Escape (known here as the second-gen C520 Kuga) at the Chicago Auto Show. The dress-up kit will be available for 2017 SE and Titanium versions of the SUV later this year.
Black is the thematic colour for the kit, which includes 19-inch Ebony Black premium painted aluminium wheels and black bezels for the halogen projector headlamps and LED tail lights. Other darkened bits include the belt-line molding and front fenders, as well as the roof rack side rails.
Elsewhere, the front grille and side mirror caps go gloss black, while Ebony Black again features on the front and rear skid plates. Inside, the package adds on partial leather-trimmed sport seats with contrast stitching, a leather-wrapped gearshift knob and steering wheel.
The optional package for the Escape – which made its debut at the LA Auto Show back in 2011, and which arrived in facelifted form at the same show last year – follows on the XLT Sport Appearance Package for the 2017 Ford Explorer model line, which was also announced in Chicago. That one also adds on dark-accent exterior cues (and 20-inch wheels) and leather and suede enhancements to the interior.
