Toyota’s headlining act at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show is the C-HR crossover‘s world premiere, but the world’s No.1 carmaker will also show display the RAV4 Sapphire Hybrid showcar, which previews some future developments.

The RAV4 Sapphire Hybrid is finished in a unique blue exterior colour and features body coloured bumpers and side sills (as opposed to black plastic cladding). The latter receive an extra chrome trim, adorned with a RAV4 Hybrid Blue badge. Chrome also decorates the grille and roof rails, while unique 20-inch alloys give the RAV4 Hybrid a more assertive and premium look.

Inside, the seats get quilted leather upholstery with blue stitching while the console is finished with piano black inserts. The air vents are painted in Hybrid Blue.

Toyota says that the Sapphire reveals some features that will be offered to customers in the near future. A full body colour version will be added to the catalogue, whilst the leather seats are already available as an option today. Other design elements are to gauge customer reaction.
