Jeep-Wrangler-Unlimited-Sahara-Batwrangler-1

Jeep Malaysia revealed a customised version of the Jeep Wrangler Ultimate Sahara at Tropicana City Mall over the weekend. Dubbed the “Batwrangler,” this one-off of the iconic off-roader – in long-wheelbase five-door guise – gets a smattering of Mopar accessories plus a special paint job to commemorate Jeep’s association with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Yes, those graphics you see here are not part of a wrap – Jeep Malaysia actually commissioned a customised airbrushed paint job, designed by the Jeep Special Projects Division. The company told us that more custom special edition models like this are expected to be revealed in the near future.

As for the bundled Mopar accessories, they include a steel off-road front bumper, flat fender flares, bonnet lock, Jeep-branded mirror caps, body cladding, fuel door, tail light guards and black versions of the 18-inch aluminium wheels that come standard with the Sahara model.

In total, these accessories (minus the paint job) cost RM52,899, but the Batwrangler gets these for just RM39,999 above the RM328,889 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, bringing the price down to RM368,888 on-the-road without insurance. Sources within Jeep Malaysia told us that an additional discount of up to RM30,000 is being offered on top of that.

These items add to the standard kit on the Sahara, including a removable Freedom Top, cruise control, auto air-con, leather multifunction steering wheel, 6.5-inch touchscreen Uconnect infotainment system with Bluetooth, voice control and a hard drive, nine-speaker Alpine Premium sound system and “Sahara” front seat embroidery. Safety-wise, there are four airbags, ESC, Hill Start Assist and Electronic Roll Mitigation.

Power comes from a 3.6 litre Pentastar VVT V6 that sends 284 hp at 6,350 rpm and 347 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm to all four wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
