Nissan has released a new teaser video on its Nissan Middle East YouTube page recently, claiming that its GT-R Nismo has set a new world record. However, the company has kept mum on the details, with the obligatory “coming soon” being shown in the video.
The car shown in the video appears to be a modified version of the “standard” GT-R Nismo, featuring a larger rear wing, what appears to be sequential shifter, a larger intercooler and revised visuals (new front fascia). At first glance, it doesn’t appear to be based on the new 2017 Nissan GT-R.
Whatever this new world record may be, it’ll certainly be added to the GT-R Nismo’s list of honours, which includes being the fastest volume production car to complete a lap of the Green Hell in 7 minutes 8.679 seconds back in 2013.
We’re not sure if the GT-R Nismo in the video receives any modification work done to its powertrain. The standard car’s hand-built 3.8 litre biturbo V6 provides 600 hp and 652 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed dual clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
What world record do you think Nissan managed to set? The Nissan GT-R Nismo is a pretty capable car, which opens up a world of possibilities. Long live Godzilla?

Real world capability of Nissan GT-R is without doubt ,will eat the European supercars for breakfast. It’s just a shame the GT-R’s 4WD system is outlawed in most GT Racing series..
Those who buy GTRs are not proper drivers, n only utilise 30% of what the car is capable of… Most will jus pedal to the metal on a straight line…. Kinda sad…
