Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has revealed that it will set up a new certified pre-owned programme called Das WeltAuto. The Das WeltAuto programme has been around since 2010, and was launched in 2010 by the Volkswagen Group to provide customers with a one-stop pre-owned vehicle experience. It is currently active in 24 countries worldwide, including in neighbouring Singapore.
Details on when the programme will be introduced weren’t provided during a recent media roundtable session with VPCM executives, including its features. Over in Singapore, these include a multi-point check of vehicles that will join the inventory, a minimum 12-month warranty and awarding of a certificate of quality for Das WeltAuto vehicles.
Aside from the pre-owned programme, VPCM will also launch the Volkswagen Marketplace – an online sales platform for special/limited edition cars based on current models. This is similar to what MINI Malaysia is doing with the Clubman Sterling Edition, which is available exclusively via online order only.
VPCM’s foray into online purchasing saw a collaboration with Lazada last year, where 12 unique Beetles were offered during the Lazada Online Revolution sale. The campaign proved to be well received, with all units being accounted for within just 20 minutes after order books opened.
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Smart move VPCM. VW owners no more worries..
What so smart? Used car say my Passat worth less than 50K
Lucky u din buy 2016 Perdana oso worth less than 50K
Price of VW always drops because VPCM themselves throw prices and do firesales. Soon the current Passat owners will be crying when again VPCM throw prices and sell the brand new Passat for RM100k
Wait a minute. When its affordable u complain too exp. When RV is down u complain pulak.
When in the world got bog standard cars with RV higher than selling price?
Better buy in Mudah. Can get 2 year old Passat for half price.
Who will give you 50& off?
I sold my 2013 Passat for RM75k
That Perdana din cost RM200k in the 1st place.
hmm…interesting.. golf gti clubsport maybe?
Great to see this! VPM listened!
Next… stop dropping your car price! No matter how cheap is your car, no one will buy today if they know that tomorrow you going to drop it at 10% discount! Waiting gam will never end! VW will end soon if this continue!
The price drop will ends when they stop using DSG. Soon the new Jetta with 8spd auto won’t drop as much.
When everybody goes CVT and VW goes 8spd auto = smart move.
I personally welcome this very much. It’s a very good move to bring up the resale value higher to a more reasonable value. At the same time give 2nd hand buyers a peace of mind with 12 month guarantee. U won’t be afraid people selling you broken DSG. This is the best way to boost back the 2nd hand value of VW which translates to better confidence among owners, and eventually higher sales.
What happened to the Das welt plan , very quiet?
