BMW M850i gets tuned to 670 PS, 890 Nm by G-Power

BMW has yet to reveal the new M8, so tuners are focusing their attention on the next best thing, which is the M850i. This is G-Power’s take on the grand tourer, and it involves extracting more power from the N63B44T3 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet.

Where the mill makes 530 PS and 750 Nm of torque in stock form, the firm’s upgrade kit pushes those figures to 670 PS and 890 Nm. Revisions include the company’s V2 Performance Software package and stainless steel downpipes with 200-cell sports catalytic converters.

The latter helps reduce both the thermal load and the dynamic pressure, allowing the V8 to breathe out more freely, substantiating the power gain. The increased output contributes to a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.1 seconds, which is quicker than the standard 3.7 seconds.

Additionally, G-Power can remove the factory top speed limiter for a fee, allowing the M850i to hit 320 km/h instead of being capped at 250 km/h. For even more money, you can even get a set of Hurricane RR forged wheels in staggered sizes – 21×9 with 255/30 profile tyres at the front and 21×10.5 with 305/25 profile tyres at the rear.

The stock V8 could be easily tuned up to 1200hp if one has the guts.
