At long last, the second-generation Audi Q5 been launched in Malaysia, with only a solitary variant being offered – the sport 2.0 TFSI quattro. The SUV was previewed at last year’s paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) event, and retails now at RM339,900 on-the-road without insurance.
Arriving in sport trim, the Q5’s list of exterior equipment includes 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, LED rear combination tail lights with dynamic turn signal, auto-dimming side mirrors and a rear-view camera (part of Parking aid plus).
Stepping into the cabin, you’ll find sport seats at the front as part of the appointed trim package, which are powered and with four-way lumbar support (memory function only for the driver). Leather and leatherette upholstery is also standard here, along with Aluminium Rhombus inlays.
Other features include a three-zone climate control system, leather-wrapped three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, MMI navigation plus, Audi connect, Audi smartphone interface, Audi Sound System (10 speakers, six channel amplifier, 180 watts), Audi virtual cockpit, Ambient Light package, keyless entry and start, as well as an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The safety and driver assist package on this Q5 variant consists of six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, Isofix child seat anchors (with top tethers) for the outer rear seats, and child seat anchors in front. Audi pre sense has been given a miss here.
Motivation is provided by a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 252 hp from 5,000-6,000 rpm and 370 Nm of torque from 1,600-4,500 rpm, which goes to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system with ultra technology.
This includes a decoupler on the rear axle that can allow the Q5 to run only in front-wheel drive for better efficiency. With this setup, the zero to 100 km/h sprint takes 6.3 seconds, while the top speed is 237 km/h. The combined claimed fuel consumption for the Q5 is 7.4 litres per 100 km, or 13.5 km per litre. Also present is passive suspension with damper control and progressive steering, which are linked to the Q5’s Audi drive select interface, along with the powertrain.
The above-mentioned price of RM339,900 is inclusive of a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty, which is an improvement over the previous four-year/120,000 km coverage. Buyers will get to choose from several exterior finishes – Mythos black metallic, Manhattan grey metallic, Azores green metallic, Java brown metallic, Quantum grey metallic, Matador red metallic, Floret silver metallic and Daytona grey pearl effect.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with myTukar.
Eh??? Launched here but using Sinkie number plate???
Audi no longer has official distributor in Malaysia. Audi Singapore handles them and only dealer brings them in.
too expensive la, x3 and glc can get below 300k, who will buy Audi when your brand is not up there with bmw and mer
Any adaptive cruise control?
At that prices? Heh, expect another telur sales this month from Audi.
You never know. Some suckers may just wander into the showroom and plonk down the cash for one or maybe two.
Lolwhut? Cheap netting at the rear and with plastic backing for the front seats, and only one measly charging port? Not something I expect from a RM340,000 car.
a little too late into the market and good luck on getting reasonable services in Malaysia
This Q5 is going to be a flop without the autonomous safety features. They just don’t get it. Stupid is what stupid does.
Audi Q5 RM340k only what a bargain. My S’pore cousin bought the same car RM720k there.
I didn’t know you can buy a car in S’pore using Ringgit. LOL.
While Quattro is available at the price Audi Malaysia can’t compete with its CBU pricing. Missing out on the Audi pre sense is a step backwards when cheaper alternatives have it.
RM340k is overpriced. You can get virtually the same car in the Tiguan. Now after discounts, can even get the Tiguan for RM130k
The Tiguan is exactly the same car as the Q5 and the Porsche Macan. SAME DNA and same parts. Infact, both cars are so identical except for slightly more powerful engine.
Ride handling and comfort between a Tiguan, Macan and a Q5 is EXACTLY the same
don’t be silly. tiguan is q3. transverse engine. this thing is longitudinal engine. if i follow your logic i can say you’re getting a budget porsche macan?
If ze Germans were as “smart” as you, Audi would have been a dead brand by now. Too bad ze Germans were much smarter.
Bro…Tiguan equal to a Q3…Q5 whole car setting from engine to gearbox are totally diff…at this price tag bargain to buy compare to GLC and X3…
Audi is dead in Malaysia, it’s Merc vs BMW vs Volvo now
Singapore car???
Good car, trash specs, vomit price. Nice try Audi Malaysia, but please try again
Wow they even had to use a test unit from our neighboring country??? they really out of $$$
Finally, its here. Its a handsome car to these eyes. But at that price (to be fair, it is CBU), was expecting better specs. Pre-sense was omitted. No mention of panaromic roof. And only 6 airbags. At least it has virtual cockpit. Else, it would be as kosong as the X3.
sorry the xc60 exists
Just wait for the GLC facelift
have seen on paultan a few days ago. not so good looking…boring.
honestly i really like Q5, aim to buy one when come to malaysia. but see the comments here make me feeling down. for quite same price, which one is good bargain.. RX300L with 7 seater or Q5?
Geely, Mesidis, P1, VolvoCar, VolvoTrucks, Lotus, L&C, PS > all
