Volvo XC60 and V60 gain Polestar Engineered versions

For its 2020 model year line-up, Volvo Car USA will offer customers a wider selection of cars with the Polestar Engineered treatment, which was first made available with the 2019 S60 T8 Twin Engine. Joining the sedan is its wagon sibling, the V60, as well as the XC60, both with the same T8 powertrain.

With the Polestar Engineered enhancements, the T8’s output figures will climb from the stock 400 hp and 640 Nm of torque to 415 hp and 670 Nm. The cars’ suspension setup will also feature components from Öhlins, including new dampers and a front strut bar to improve handling.

Elsewhere, six-piston brake calipers painted in Polestar’s trademark gold can be found just behind lightweight forged alloy wheels. The design of the wheel is also unique to improve airflow to the brakes, while giving the cars a distinct look.

For even greater visual distinction, the Polestar Engineered cars also come with a high-gloss black grille, wheel arch extensions, black chrome exhaust pipes and dedicated emblems at the front and rear.

Inside, more signs of Polestar’s gold is found on the safety belts, which is set among a charcoal colour scheme with metal mesh aluminium inlays. You’ll also get Nappa leather/open-grid textile upholstery with a leather sports steering wheel and gear lever.
