This is the Hyundai Veloster N Performance Concept created by the carmaker’s customisation teams for the 2019 SEMA show. Based on the Veloster N, the concept uses a variety of OEM-quality performance parts to maximise visual appeal and dynamic performance. Looks fab, doesn’t it?
Hyundai says that the bolt-on accessories are “designed to have high potential for aftermarket availability”, which means they should be set to appear in an official catalogue soon.
On the outside, the 275 hp/353 Nm manual coupe (or hatchback, up to you) is dressed up with a KWA hood, grille garnish, fog lamp garnish, front splitter, side sills, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, outside mirror covers and engine cover. The car sits lower on Extreme Racing coilover suspension with H&R springs and Capristo cat-back anodised exhaust tips poke out from the rear.
At each corner are 19-inch OZ forged racing wheels with N carbon wheel caps, paired with 235/35 Pirelli P-Zero Corsa UHP rubber. Behind the rims are Alcon forged six-piston front brake calipers gripping 380 mm rotors (four-piston, 360 mm discs for the rear). Also on are Daewon Steel anti-roll bars (front/rear), WIF chassis brace (front, centre and rear) and aluminium caliper brackets.
Inside, the most obvious mod is the presence of Alcantara. The material is found on the dashboard, top of the doors, headliner/pillars, steering wheel (horn pad included) and handbrake lever. Meanwhile, carbon trim is on the air con surrounds, bottom spoke of the steering, and bezels for the door control and gear knob area. The accenting colour here is orange, which can be found on the stitching and centre line for the steering and Sabelt sports seats.
Finally, the Veloster cabin gets N-branded door sill covers, an aluminium gear shift knob, red push start button, coloured seat belt webbing and sport floor mats. The Veloster N would be a perfect upgrade for Honda CR-Z owners looking for a faster car with the same shape – what a forbidden fruit this is.
