The Chery Omoda 5 can now be had with an RM8,000 discount in the latest promo by Chery Malaysia. One can either take the instant rebate, or “100% free service for seven years”. By mentioning 100%, the deal should include both parts and labour – confirm with your dealership.
“Thinking of upgrading your ride? Here’s the scoop: you can score RM8,000 in savings or get seven whole years of 100% free service when you upgrade your ride for a new Omoda 5. So, why the wait? Start your Chery journey now and add some serious thrill to your drive!” the social media caption read.
Powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-four with 156 PS/230 Nm, the Chery Omoda 5’s retail price is RM99,800 for the C variant and RM118,800 for the range-topping H, which adds on goodies like a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, hands-free powered tailgate, powered sunroof, speed limit assist, traffic sign recognition and 360-degree camera.
The Omoda 5 debut in July 2023 and it immediately put sales pressure on Proton’s X SUVs. However, the Malaysian brand is fighting back, and hard.
In June, the X50 RC was launched with the same looks, but with more kit and a RM7,000 discount from launch. The running change is off to a flying start. Last month, the X70 facelift surfaced with a RM7,000 early bird discount for all variants, lowering the entry price of the C-segment SUV to just RM91,800. That’s a lot of car for the money. Have the tables turned in this little skirmish?
Not really into Chinese SUVs? How about a Honda Civic? That handsome bugger of a sedan is going for a whopping RM12k off this month, which means that the FE starts from below RM120k. Are we looking at the start of an ICE price war? Bring out the popcorn and the chequebook!
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
RM1,140/year? OMG!
never forget. welding best.
Hongda give RM15k diskaun for post warranty steering rack replacement. Cherry tomato give RM8k for torsion beam?
Why keep posting the boring and non reliable cina car. You think can last in market in next 7 years?
Compare to Chinese EV
8K is really nothing LOL
Why not choose X50
Gives better reason
is the steering rack problem fixed? i heard it is still ongoing.
Kasi 30% discount pon tak mau le hehe
Just take the rm8k if you want to buy this car.
Is probably going to tapao in before the 7 years
it does shows that the actual maintenance cost for these chinese cars are expensive. over 1k/ year its way above japanese cost
Selagi ada pembeli, selagi tu la ada penjual. Hehehe…
I think we need some laws to protect our average M40 car buyers from losing unrealistically big money in the next 5-7 years.
Why so fast discount..cannot sell kah?
If a Japanese car part can last up to 100k km mileage, a China made car probably last up 60k km mileage and it require replacement.
That is a very expensive for 7-year service…
My wife’s HRV maintenance cost only less than RM5k over the last 7.5 years…
what happens after the 8 years?
Like what uncle Roger would say “you can buy this car if you are poor”.
