Pos Malaysia has partnered with Autonomous Logistic Solutions (ALS) for Malaysia’s first autonomous logistics deployment of its kind. As part of the collaborative agreement, both parties will undertake a six-month proof of concept trial where a Zelos autonomous vehicle (AV) supplied by ALS will be used within Pos Malaysia’s operational environment.
Zelos operates more than 15,000 autonomous vehicles across countries including China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, with ALS being the exclusive Malaysian partner responsible for bringing, localising, and operationalising Zelos vehicles in Malaysia.
The trial will serve as a critical first step towards on-road adoption, supported by close collaboration with the ministry of transport, road transport department (JPJ) and Futuris to ensure alignment with regulatory, safety and national autonomous vehicle frameworks.
“Our autonomous vehicle initiative signifies a pivotal milestone in our journey to transform Pos Malaysia into a modern, innovative, and sustainable logistics provider. Zelos represents more than just technological advancement, it represents a concrete step towards a more sustainable and efficient operation,” said Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar, chairman of Pos Malaysia.
“The technology has the potential to reduce fuel consumption, optimise delivery routes and minimise wastage in our daily operations. We are proud to be at the forefront of Malaysia’s digital evolution and to lead the industry into a new era of automation,” he added.
The Zelos AV is fully electric and features a comprehensive sensor suite that allows for Level 4 autonomy, meaning it is completely driverless. According to Pos Malaysia, the zero-emission autonomous logistics vehicle is purpose-built for business to business (B2B) goods transportation, particularly high-volume, repetitive, point-to-point delivery operations.
Digital Nasional (DNB) is also involved as ALS’ strategic partner for 5G connectivity, an essential aspect for enabling advanced autonomous use cases. Pos Malaysia’s venture into autonomous logistics builds upon its sustainable mobility initiative which has resulted in it operating the nation’s largest electric vehicle (EV) fleet. The company says it has over 1,500 electric motorcycles and vans, with 25% of its entire fleet now fully electric.
“Today, we are not just launching an autonomous vehicle, we are launching Malaysia into a new era of logistics. This autonomous pioneer is a testament to our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and serving our nation’s future. We are immensely proud to lead this transformative journey, and we are energised by the potential it unlocks for our customers and for the entire country. This is the first mile of a very long and exciting road ahead for Pos Malaysia,” commented Charles Brewer, group CEO of Pos Malaysia.
“This collaboration with Pos Malaysia moves autonomous logistics beyond trials into live operations. By integrating seamlessly into existing post and parcel workflows, we are demonstrating that Level 4 autonomy is ready for real-world deployment. Together with Pos Malaysia, this sets a national precedent for wider industrial adoption and opens a clear pathway for autonomous vehicles to soon operate on Malaysian roads,” said Alan Chong, managing director of ALS.

replace all heavy vehicle reckless drivers with this AI and the roads will be a lot safer
Everyday hospital emergency and trauma section bed will be full of mat rempit, whom had just crashed into this AI mini lorry
in case you didnt read the statistics, thousands of rempit are already crashing every year
Keep an eye out on these autonomous delivery vehicles, because based on footages from China, these vehicles frequently malfunction, crash into their surroundings and will still try to keep on driving into the object(s) they have hit even though the sensors for detecting impacts should’ve told the vehicle to come to a complete stop.
how ironic , because many non-autonomous crashes also happen if dont believe me can ask FRU officers, UPSI students, IVF baby
brainless management. Already rugi so much money still spend on useless shit like this. Go study LEAN model and bring your business back to profability please! Last time say hiring mat salleh can turn the company around? So many years already still rugi and the mat salleh still there?
same excuse like how Fam hired mat salleh Robert Douglas Friend to be ceo and allow foreign players to get nric
Congratulations, Pos Malaysia continues to align with global logistics standards through significant technological and sustainability milestones.
