Proton launched two new models at the Felda Settlers Day in Johor today – the Proton Saga SE and the Proton Exora 1.6 manual.
From the info I am getting now, the Saga SE uses a 1.3 litre Campro IAFM engine as before (the sole 1.6 litre model continues in taxi spec), but comes with aesthetic and equipment changes, while the Proton Exora 1.6 M/T like its namesake comes with a manual transmission. The Proton team is having trouble sending full specs and press release over because they are in an area without internet access now but at least we have the prices:
- Proton Saga SE Manual – RM43,000
- Proton Saga SE Auto – RM45,500
- Proton Exora M/T Solid – RM64,548.00
- Proton Exora M/T Metallic – RM64,998.00

SE means SPecial Edition, i think. It should be full of additional features. Something that a basic Persona will never have.
lol… 1.3 at 45K? What I see is the old Proton revive again, what is the point of having profit but not beneficial to the people? The wira 1.3 hatchback was once selling at only rm40K-42K in year 1999-2002. And they manage to put a huge volume of that on the road.
With wira hatchback, they will have to pay Mitsubishi for patent fee, and yet it is still cheaper than Saga. Would SZ care to explain why is that happen to a 100% build product from local?

Just called iCare, there was M Line for Exora Manual currently and No H Line. Waiting list still 2 month ++. If i book today, by early Sept most likely i'll get the car.
Don't know actual spec for Manual M Line, they just said will same as A/T M Line.. ????

actually Malaysians really love Malaysian national project cars like PROTON and PERODUA, hoping there will be next national car.. can it be from NAZA, from Boon Siew, from Hong Leong… every thread on paultan news about Malaysia national car project have almost 100 comments or over 100 comments..
but why PROTON and PERODUA don't want to listen?? sometime we have totally lost trust and hope to Malaysia national car project (very arrogant because of the government protection) and hoping Jeremy Clarksson and Top Gear show will bash it to its maximum limit.
PROTON and PERODUA need to get more partners, need to improve its quality, need to have a very competetive price, and need to works fast and effisien to move fast and catch-up with the fast moving world of technology and science.

Proton destroy its own market. It is a shit company which never consider the buyer situation! What happened to old iswara 2nd value after it sold the model for RM26999! To hell with it!
It seems like it is based on m-line, IIANM, the auto m-line is RM41k++, so this SE version cost RM2k++ more than the normal saga m-line.
Off-topic: This is just my own wishful thinking, but just maybe, proton persona CPS will only happen after the waja replacement is launched

Already used new Saga for about 6 months, f/c 14-15 cent per litre for city drive, no other problems occured, no 'bunyi2 krek krok krek krok' yet..waiting for that 'bunyi2' to occurs if what all they say is true ;p

Ak sokong 100%.. asal model atau facelift proton keluar je, korang dah kutuk. Bila agaknya korang nak maju? Dah hampir 53 tahun merdeka pun tak matang lagi.
korang ingat tak masa model pertama proton keluar masa 80-an,hampir semua rakyat Malaysia berebut nak beli kreta proton masa tu.. sampaikan sanggup tunggu sampai lebih 6 bulan. Tapi skarang apa dah jadi? Memanglah model proton ada masalah, tapi model kereta import takkan tak ada masalah kot. Contoh paling senang model kereta hybrid popular di dunia> Toyota prius. Toyota yang dikatakan sebagai pengeluar kereta paling slamat di dunia pun ada masalah. Masalah paling serius ialah masalah sistem brek elektronik ( EBD) Di amerika, Toyota terpaksa menarik balik model atau membekal alat ganti kepada kereta yg bermasalah tersebut. Kalau nak dibadingkan dengan pengalaman proton dan toyota memang jauh berbeza tetapi proton baru setahun jagung nak bertapak di malaysia. Jadi sesiapa yang kutuk, test dulu sbelum komen. Kepada korang yang selalu kutuk, memang tak patriotik. Ternyata warga zaman 80-an lebih patriotik daripada anda yang selalu kutuk.
Jadi nasihat saya, Tolong buka minda, bukan main hentam. Jadi korang tunggu
model terbaru proton iaitu model lebih kurang sama model dengan mitsubishi lancer fortis versi taiwan, baru korang ternganga. Kalau korang kutuk jugak, memang sakit mental, pemikiran kuno dan lansung tak memperjuangkan anak tempatan. Tapi satu benda yang korang terlepas pandang, sistem suspensi, sistem penyejukan dan sistem audio. Sistem suspensi dari Lotus, memang sedap dibawa, stereng pun tak gegar bila high speed kat highway sampaikan model terbaru Nissan GTR pun ambik suspensi dari Lotus ( http://www.lotus.com/). Sistem audio bukan calang2, dari high-line hingga dari base-line, jenama Clarion atau Blaupunkt. Sistem penyejukan pun high class, buka low pun dah cepat sejuk. Saya cuma beri komen dan pendapat berdasarkan fakta bukan auta!
Nak buat kereta tu bior betul betul- kat dalam negeri lain rupa dan kat luar negara pulak lain rupa – saya ingat luar negeri tu maknusia yang pakai dan dalam negeri ni binatang yang pakai.buat bior sama apa ruginya. Demi masa depan proton maju negara maju.
