Nissan Almera Nismo Performance Package Concept

Nissan_Nismo_002

This is the new Nissan Almera Nismo Performance Package Concept, which made its global premiere at the Super GT International Series Malaysia 2013 in Sepang yesterday. It is an attempt by Nissan Motorsports International (Nismo) to spruce up the Almera family sedan in both its aesthetic and dynamic aspects.

In essence it’s a simple Nismo-branded bodykit and suspension tune-up job, and is only labelled as a concept as the package is not yet available anywhere in the world. The Malaysia market will get it towards the end of the year, placed as an alternative to the Impul package (silver car pictured below) that’s readily available since the Almera’s local launch.

Despite the name, there’s no performance boost on offer here. The ‘performance’ package includes Nismo front and rear extensions, side skirts, boot lid spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels and exhaust muffler. Unseen is the Nismo sports suspension (uprated springs and dampers).

This particular show car is also dressed up with extra bits and pieces such as carbonfibre side mirror covers, body decals, contrasting silver roof, smoked front grille, sports seats and steering wheel. No word on pricing yet. You’ll know more when we do.

    • Only ugly cars need those body kit or ah beng bumpers to covet up, but still cant help :( let’s compared to same lever brands… Mazda cx5, Kia K3, Nissan Sylphy 2013 Thai version or the Hyundai Santa without any kit but still looks awesome!

The so called performance package has 4 big wheels, same power output –> performance drop got la..

good thing is handling is upgraded. stock almera feels like floating on the water.

lastly, ugly car, after repackage still ugly.

  • Why not design it to look better at the first place? It makes it uglier to add this and that.

Wonder why most of all these so called “performance” packages from auto makers actually made their cars go slower.

true. most of them increase the drag of the vehicle which cause them to be “heavier” thus require more fuel to move.

on the bright side, the vehicle’s handling & stability are improved.

Nismo and Almera don’t go in the same line. I think people would rather go for a safer Almera instead. At least put ESP or something!

never doubt Nissan, they’ve in performance car scene long time ago…from 180sx,silvia,fairlady,GTR etc.But this almera….just let it be a consumer car, there’s no need for tuning whatsoever. Please don’t ruin your reputation..

  • VERY BAD choice of body kits. It just does not go with the flow of the vehicle design. Plus, with such on offer, its not worth the money at all. Move on please. Thanks.

Don’t need to make up the look of the car just drop the price by ten to twenty thousands ringgit, the car will become sale-able because the present price is too high la(so much over priced)
